Coolant fo Dodge 3500

I need to top off my coolant. I have some Super Tech coolant from Walmart. It is the extended life type. Will it be ok to use in my 2006 Dodge 3500 with the Cummings 5.9. It says on the bottle it is compatible with all extended life coolant. Thanks

RE: Check engine light

Did the odometer change from displaying the mileage to "PdonE"? If not, you may not have done it right. No it did not and I tried it two times. I just did it again and it showed PdonE I think I was not turning the key fast enough the first two times. What does this mean ?

RE: Check engine light

Start in off position. Turn it to run 3x, do not start engine. Codes show up in digital odometer. Have a pencil ready. Like this: off-on-off-on-off-on within 5 sec, leave in on position, read codes. It takes a minute or two to do the diagnostic. Post any code you get here, and I'll look it up for you. I did as you said and waited 2 minutes and nothing posted. I guess it will only post if the check engine light is on.

RE: Check engine light

No, but have you pulled the code so you can find out what it pertains to? You can do this with the key, takes a second, and takes all the guesswork out of it. The code will disappear after just normal starting for a few times, unless it is an ongoing issue. How do you pull the code using the key ?

Check engine light

My 2006 dodge 3500 5.9's check engine light came on and stayed on until I refueled. After refueling and restarting the light went off and so far has stayed off. I checked the fuel cap while the light was on and it was tight. Also stopped and restarted the engine several times and the light stayed on until the refueling. Has anyone had this happen? Thanks

Changing Fuel filter on 06 Dodge 5.9

Exactly how do you change the fuel filter on a 06 Dodge 3500 with a Cummings 5.9. Do you need to drain the filter housing before removing the top and if so can you just use the water drain valve to do so? Should I rinse out the housing with fuel before installing the new filter.

RE: Black Water Holding Tank Question

You will at the very least need a lot of water to wash out and break up the solids when they pump it out. Good Luck !!

RE: How accurate is your fuel range calculator

My 2005 2500 Dodge Cummins Computer is "dead on"! Got the 3:73 rear end with the Automatic. Factory tires still.... I have talked to a lot of Dodge owners and you are the first to say it is close to being accurate.

RE: How accurate is your fuel range calculator

My 06 Dodge 3500 always shows 2.5 to 3.0 MPG more than I actually get.The dealer said that was within spec's. Don't know why they even bother.

RE: interior odor

Does it also burn your eyes. If so it will just take some airing out and use to get rid of it. It took us about a year to completely rid our 5th wheel of it

RE: Proper Jacking Points for Fifth Wheel

I have always used a bottle jack and place it on the axle u bolt or the plate on the bottom of the u bolt depending on the instillation of the u bolt, up or down.

Vista Update Error 80072F8F

I just ran into a problem on friend's computer, it won't do updates. I get the 80072F8F error. I googled it and it said to check the time and date which was right. The computer has been offline for a year or so and wanted to help out on her updates. It did one update now I get this error time and time again. I tried to do a restore and then it wouldn't connect to the net so had to do the un-restore, for a lack of better words. I am now downloading the Vista SP1 hoping that will do it and then follow up with the SP2. Any ideas out there? You guys have never let me down so far. Apparently it has been a problem with others but I haven't found a solution. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Update...Tried downloading SP1 and it failed at 60% and still won't download updates. Grrr.........

RE: How much wheel bearing grease?

Do as the instructions say and pump the hub full until the grease starts to come out the front bearing and just add enough grease each year so it comes out the front bearing and forget it. This has worked for years for me with cycle trailers boat trailers and fifth wheel trailers. Have fun.

RE: Diesel Soot

I put a extension with a turn down on my Dodge Dually to keep the soot off the fender and bumper and it worked very well.

RE: Honey bear campground boone n.c.

Honey Bear went out of business a number of years ago. It was a great campground. We rode by it about 3 years ago and you could not even tell it had been a campground .Small trees and brush had taken over.
