RE: Allison TransyndChange

I did the change sometime back. I was told by Allison that the first change would be at 24 months. After the 24 month change it goes to a 48 month interval.

RE: What will happen to 10 year rule at some parks?

What is the age of this coach? I doubt that any rv park help could tell that it's 12 years old.

RE: 100000 miles on used diesel is it too much

Cummins C8.3 91,000 plus and runs as good as new. Gets around 9 MPG or a little better. I love this coach.

RE: 1997 country coach intrigue purchase

1997 Intrigue
This will give you some information. Early CC with a single slide had weight distribution problems. The generator was on the same side, this caused an overload condition on the left front tire. There was a recall and front tires and wheels were up sized and the ride height valves were changed from 2 in the front and 1 in back, too 2 in back and 1 in front. If the coach did not have a slide the recall did not apply. The 325hp 8.3 Cummins is the best choice for power Expect to replace the tires even if they look good, especially on the steer axle. If it is in good condition it's a great coach very well built in those years. I have 91000 plus miles on mine and its almost as good as new.

RE: Age and highway speeds??

65 with no toad. 58 to 60 with, max speed on toad is 65. In California with toad max 58. Mostly highway, on smaller roads 55 or minimum to get into sixth gear.
72 years this week. Still working as a simulator instructor on the Challenger 604 Intercontinental jet. It goes faster.

RE: Re-painting Gel-Coat...would you?

I think painting is the best way to go on an older coach, that is if you plan on keeping it. It isnt inexpensive. Almost 20 grand at a good shop.

RE: Do you think my PRXB exhaust brake is working?

I have the PRXB on my coach and on 6% grade of about 3 miles yeaterday the brake would hold 55 mph with an occasional application of service brakes. Mine shifts to 4th and the engine RPM goes up to about 2500RPM. I have been happy with mine. My coach is 32,000 and I tow a Saturn Vue. I generally run with my exhaust on all the time. The transmission won't down shift if it will overspeed the engine, no matter what you select on the shift pad.
I would call PacBrake and ask them.

RE: parts for country coach

Even though the chassis is built by CC. The suspension, steering and other parts are purchased from suppliers. If you can get the suppliers name many times you can get the parts at a lower cost. I've replaced a number of parts like airbags, tie-rod ends, windshield wiper arms etc all directly from the manufacturer.
One problem area with all CC is the SE-GI windows, they lose the seal and begin to fog up. I have replaced two on my coach. Others have replaced a number of them. Not a CC part but SE-GI wont sell directly normally. The are a number of companies that will repair the windows.
You spoke earlier about a one piece roof. The Inspire does have a seam for the front and rear cap over the roof and that can leak. Earlier CC's and the higher end CC coaches have a true one piece front cap and roof and it extended over the back edge. No seams over the top. I know an owner of one Inspire that had to have the entire roof replaced due to mold from water leaks. That was replaced under warranty by CC and the owner had no more trouble that I know of.
That is a good price for an 05. I have another friend that bought an 05 Inspire in FL about 8 months ago and he paid $110,000.
Good luck there is a CC forum on Yahoo. There is some good information there if you sort through complaining about CC the company.

RE: 1997 Country Coach allure or Newer gasser

Big mistake. I don't know what maintenance pains you have, mine is about as trouble free as you can get in an RV. As an ex gasser I found the maintenance is a much bigger pain on a gasser.
As far as the handling. you've driven your CC and its about the most stable handling coach on the road, you will be greatly disappointed in the handling of a gas coach. The loss of storage is huge and the limited load capacity is another factor.
I own a 1997 Allure so my opinion is biased. But I have owned gas coaches in past and never again. Like I said big mistake.

RE: What do you think about the Country Coach Veranda?

With the forward kitchen the front axle is within 600# of the maximum axle weight. With Country Coach not supplying any warranty I would be very careful. Who will repair it? I own a Country Coach and its a fine motorhome, my warranty expired many years ago so CC problems don't affect me to much.

RE: Is an awning a good thing or a source of problems?

I finally removed the manual awning and went with the Girard. A bit pricey, but lifetime warranty and very high quality. Girard installed it at their plant and they did an excellent job.

RE: Replacing Tires: Presently Michelin XZE

I am running the 275-80R22.5- XZA3. They make them in 2 weight capacity ranges. Be sure to get the higher weight rating, I believe its the H rated tire the G rated tire has much less load capability.
I have had them for about three years they have been great, about 15000 miles. No appreciable wear on the fronts, I do get an alignment about once a year.
I will replace them with the same tire next time.

RE: 1990 Pace Arrow

I had a 90 Pace Arrow 32, It was a TBI 454. It got about 7.5 MPG. If I remember right the tow limit is 3500#. The coach will most likely be overweight without anything in it, usually on the rear axle. I would put it on a Cat scale before I spent any money on it.
The delamination problem is serious on these older PA MH's. I had several bumps on the sides that turned into delamination due to water leaks and when trying fix the problem we found the steel framing had rusted thru and had to be replaced. Very expensive repair.
From the picture it looks like there may be a delamination under the rear window. I would not buy any Pace Arrow that showed any signs of leaks or had any bumps on the sides. They are notorious leaker on the seams that attach the front and rear cap to the roof. Beware.
