Cost of Fuel and Stratigic Storage

No I am not talking an end of the world scenario, but I guess it could happen :E Of course if anything should happen to the fuel supply....
Any rate this is the 20th anniversary of the earthquake in SF. Things
happen.
Now that fuel, both gas and diesel are somewhat "low" is anyone
storing fuel? If so how? Are you using 5 gallon cans or barrels,
or for those of you that can, in ground tanks?
If you are and are not aware of fuel stabilizers, familarize yourself with PRI-D/PRI-G, look at their tech sheet.
Been using it for a couple of years. Seems to work well.
See you down the road...if you have fuel:)

RE: Any Pilots (airplane owners) on the boards?

Hello RV Center. Two niner five three three.
OK so here is the deal:
Why is it Tom Cruise flies a P-51 and Travolta has a bus. Mannnnnnnnn if I had
their money, I'd have a C-130!! How great would that be all the toys on board and able to land anywhere. I guess Tom and John just don't like to RV.
Now what did I do with that lotto ticket??

RE: Class B experience

I agree - Class B is the "A" List of travel.
While I have traveled Asia and Europe in "class", be it Four Seasons or Motel 6 when you get down to it, in my opinion, a hotel means a long hot shower.
My 2007 PW Plateau has served me well for the 39,000 so far. Although there have been a few minor warranty problems all but the rear view camera has been fixed (I don't know if I want the overhead taken down to fix the camera/monitor).
I rarely use campgrounds, prefer to boondock. The longest time in the PW was
earlier this year when I spent over two months in it. The only hassle was
the size of the holding tanks.
For the uninitiated, here was my routine: Parked on my commercial property hooked up to the electric and water. I may someday put in a dump station -
that would be nice. Ahhhhhh, but the Class B - you gotta love the size -
drive to the market, perhaps go into the downtown cramped parking area and
have lunch/dinner. Many a day I'd just spend the day at Avila Beach parked
along the cliff and enjoy the day. Class B gives you it all. Was all I needed,
kinda like having a "beach house" Deploy the awning. turn on the sounds, fix
a cup of coffee or lunch. Can't do that with a larger rig - not where I was. And so much easier to scoot - no hooking up.
Another advantage to the "B" is as a photographer there are many the time when
I have to wait for the light or weather to be right. No problem, whatever the
weather or how long you have to wait, just sit in the PW and relax and watch. No more sitting on a damp rock shivering in the cold or dark. Nope, in the PW
just like being at "HOME"!
Well off to the Smoky Mtns to shoot Fall Colors. See ya down the road.

RE: For the 1st time, used the generator for 24 straight hours.

FYI:
PW Plateau, and I find the Onan a bit too noisy to run all night. I do, however, carry a Honda 2000 for aux power and there is no vibration and very little noise.
And yes, it kicks the AC on and runs all night long.

Pleasure Way Warranty Action

Well, pleased to post that PW has responded and will ship, via overnight
air, the correct shower curtain.
Pleased to see that PW is back to their "old" customer service.
Thanks Phil and Nick.
Darn, now I have to have the TS painted; knew I should have waited before I called the sign painter! LOL

RE: Pleasure Way Warranty Support

Sorry, I don't buy your story. Maybe you can sell it to others. However, if you came across to PW as you come across here, well...
Hey pal -
How long would you give them? Is not three months enough?
This whole issue is LUDICROUS!
I am done with it here and with PW
My effort will be to
1. Remove all badging of PW
2. Inform all of their attitude
Now, what did I do with the sign painter's number....

RE: Pleasure Way Warranty Support

IMHO, I feel KHJPHOTO to have a valid point!
It's not the size of the problem that matters in this situation, it's the fact KHJPHOTO was given no attention/satisfaction in resolving the issue at hand in a prompt and professional manner.
Exactly! The whole point. Thanks for the understanding. It is not the curtain - it is the attitude at Pleasure Way
In this economy you think a RV builder would bend over backward to insure
customer satisfaction and to promote further sales.

RE: Pleasure Way Warranty Support

That's the trouble with this Country. Let 'em all off the hook!
Pleasure Way BUILT the thing - THEY are responsible to make it right.
Period. NOT the dealer.
Not lasy or stupid; but I will do what I can do to see that the the party "RESPONSIBLE" will corect the problem or will pay in public
disclosure of their attitude.
Phil "has" (past tense) been helpful. John, in sales, is a rude person. I will campain to see that this issue costs them far more then the $4.00 fix. LOL and they have no time - in three months - to make a call? Outragous!
HOLD THE INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLE!
Buy another Sprinter base unit from "perhaps" a more "responible builder. Just my humble opionion.

RE: Pleasure Way Warranty Support

LOL You must be kidding...right?
NOT IN the shower but the water drains onto the floor and then on to the carpets in the rear and/or the
cockpit.
Phil told me over a year ago the curtain was too short - but fails to ship the right one.

RE: Pleasure Way Warranty Support

For those that have asked. The problem is ludicrous. From the purchase two
years ago, I found that the shower curtain is too short. When in use the water
runs down the curtain and dumps onto the floor and carpet.
Now if you think this is no big deal - you mop up the mess and deal with the rotting carpet!
I too echo some of the comments, I too - until this - have found Phil to be quite helpful.
So come on Pleasure Way; it's an easy fix; you make the curtain in house, what's
the problem?!

RE: Pleasure Way Warranty Support

Well not only has Phil and his team failed in this warranty (very minor) claim; but when I had a telephone conversation with a "John" in sales, the results did nothing! "John" indicated he would look into it and get back to me or insure Phil would - NO call.
Attitude: When I mentioned to "John" the problem and the total lack of support and the time without action, I suggested that perhaps I should drive around with a sign along the PW inviting calls to ask me about PW and their lack of warranty support. His reply was "Do it". With an attitude like that perhaps I should have purchased a Sportsmobile....or a RT....or Leisure Way...or...or...
Now what did I do with the sign painters phone number?

Pleasure Way Warranty Support

Have any others experienced a failure from Pleasure Way to support their sale?
For over three months now, Pleasure Way has failed to meet their commitment to support.
Very disappointed in Phil and the crew at Pleasure Way. Over three months and several
phone calls they can not fix nor even find the time to return phone calls.
WHAT is up with Pleasure Way?

RE: Towing a small car

Welllll now let's hold on a bit here. I have a PW and tow my motorcycle on a custom built trailer. Total weight is only around 1700lbs - lighter then a Smart
Car. I tend to park the PW and use the BMW to do all my running around with.
Towing with the PW MPG is still up around 19mpg. Try that with a Chev/Ford/Dodge
Class C!
Happy trails.

RE: Sprinter ?s

No tech notes here; but I have 39,000 on my Pleasure Way TS 2007, built on a Sprinter2006 frame. Have around 73 hours on the genset. No problems, Found the tank size to be fine.
Have never run out of LP. MPG is easily 21 -24 . Towing a small open motorcycle trailer with a total loaded trailer wright of approx. 1400lbs. MPG is still around 19 in a no headwind.
Sitting in San Luis Obispo, CA now after a drive from PA strong headwinds coming across
PHX and the MPG was down to 15.
Very happy with my PW. Love it! Wonder way I support a house!
