RE: Boston:.Where to park 33ft RV to sightsee?

Boston is not RV friendly. Narrow streets, many bridges with less than 10' of clearance, poor or misleading signage, pushy drivers with zero patience for indecision. The O'Neil Tunnel which runs through the heart of the city is a Hazmat zone forcing all propane carriers into the busy surface streets. No, you don't want to drive into Boston with a 33' RV unless you are doing it on a dare. Listen to the advice given here and park outside the city. The public transportation is cheap, quick, and safe. If I had to park a big rig near the city I would consider parking in Revere at Suffolk Downs race track. The track is on the Blue Line of the 'T' and has parking for anything you can drive. You can get to Revere easily from the north of Boston by coming down Rte 1 and following the signs to the airport. You'll drive right back the track. The USS Constitution is in the North End of the city and not on the underground transportation system. You will have to walk about a quarter to a half mile from the North Station or Haymarket 'T' station. Public parking there will cost you dearly. Keep in mind that the Constitution is undergoing a $6 million restoration and all or part of the ship may not be open to the public. Check the website to make sure you don't walk all the way out there for nothing. Many tourists get around the city by taking the Trolley Tour. The Constitution is one of the stops. You can't miss finding a Trolley stop. They're everywhere.
