Thetford Toilet Operations

I just had to remove my Thetford, Aria II, toilet to replace the water connection elbow and also the blade seal in the toilet. I am now experiencing the blade goes only part way open and shuts quickly. I am wondering if I accidently put the two way switch in the wrong position. The directions say a manual control position or a household position. Which position should it be in so the blade stays open longer and it self flushes the bowl. Now if I hold the large button down, it works. Before I only had to touch it once and it would stay open and flush out the bowl. Please advise. Thank you.

Water Heater Noise

I am experiencing a large bang noise when my water heater ignites on LP gas. Sometimes, it does not continue to run after the first or second ignition. Then normally after that, it works o.k. Any idea why I am having this "bang" explosion noise on ignition? Do I need to clean out some ports or gas lines or clean the igniter? Please advise. Thanks

RE: HHR Install of BlueOX Base Plae

I would suggest you go to the Blue Ox website and review the installations instructions. They have them online for all vehicles of which base plates are available. I recently installed a base plate on a 06 GMC Denali Envoy. One problem was in removing the front bumber. There are two holding clamps on each end that have to be released in order to remove the bumper assembly. I had to reglue them back on as the snapped off during the removal of the bumper. The base plate assembly is very heavy duty. The only item I didn't have in my tool box was the size drill bit that was required. No serious problems and saved lots of $$ rather than having it installed, plus purchased it online from a dealer in California at a good savings. Just follow the instructions closely and you will make it o.k. if you are mechanically inclined. Good Luck.
