RE: Battery slide out tray
Mine come out of the factory with two sliding trays. One on top for the chassis batteries which are sealed batteries and a tray for the house batteries. I don't know how anybody could service those batteries if you don't have trays. I suggest installing trays over getting the filling kit.

It is nice to have a paid for motorhome, but it is not necessary as long as you have plenty of cash flow. You don't want to get in debt if your finances are in question. But if you have the cash, I say go for it. I have always said that if I was to go full time I would need at least a 42'--45' coach with big slides.
But you can also look at it a different way and that is to go full time on your coach and just pocket the cash that you would spend on a newer coach. Only you can tell if the coach you have right now is in good mechanical order. Good luck on what ever you decide.

I would think it is a problem wit the ride control valve...I woudl strongly suggest having a truck or rv techlook at it as you can get into a lot of trouble (deadly) if you don't know what you're doing.
If it were an airline or the compressor then I would think you'd see a lot of fluctuation on the gauge.
TECHIE! They already found the problem. It was posted about twenty posts back.

Glad you are enjoying your coach now that your heating has being solved. Those heat pumps work pretty good until the temperature gets down to around 25-30 degrees, then the furnace will cut in automaticly if it gets any colder.

I figured that was the problem. I am glad the road service guy was knowledgable about what could be wrong.
We all learn by experience. When it happened to me I didn't have any idea what could be wrong, but when you mentioned what had happened to yours, it rang a bell right away and I figured it had to do with the height control valve.
Good luck with your new coach. I have always liked the Mountainaire by Newmar.

The only thing that I can figure out is the lift control valve is stuck open and is letting the air out. I had that happen to me on the front airbags and I had it towed to a Freightliner shop where they changed the valve.

One type of rope light that several RVs' use is made by "Vista". It's a flexible hollow rope with two coated wires inside that have small lights soldered every 2" or so. The individual lights can be changed but it is a pain in the neck and requires some level of skill to work with the tiny lights soldered inside a stiff hollow tube. At the end of the day it's easier to just buy a new string of lights when too many bulbs have failed. (In my opinion.) When you buy a string of lights the supplier typically supplies two insulated wires at one or both ends of the rope lights. The other end is simply cut and the last 1/2" is filled with clear silicone.

I have one of them lights that has given me some problems, but mine is that the light bulbs apparently have a bad contact because all I have to do is give it slap in the butt and it will work for the next six months. It is where the bulb is seated, it has very poor contact. Might want to try that, also I have two switches, you might have the same and one might be off. I doubt that it is a ballast, usually when they start going bad you can hear a humming sound coming from the ballast.

Our coach is only 38'and it does have two huge heat pump heaters, but if we don't want to use them to prevent wear and tear we have a small electric heater that is thermostaticly controled. We set it at 75 degrees on top of the kitchen counter and it keeps the coach nice and warm all night. Now if you are in real cold weather, then we turn the furnace on. That would be like 15 degree weather.
If you decide to use the heat pumps which work really good on mine, just use the front heat pump that way you don't even hear it while sleeping and it will keep the coach nice and warm until it gets below thirty degrees, then it will switch automaticly to the furnace.

I had that type of lights replaced on the entrance steps. I believe I had for sections about 36" long replaced. I ordered mine through the manufacturer, but they refered me to the vendor. I believe I paid around one hundred bucks for them, but I couldn't fix it myself, so I took it to Findley RV in Las Vegas being that I was there and I believe they charged me like sixty bucks to install them. But they done a great job. The lights have to be twelve volt and the stuff they sell at Home Depot is not the same. The lights that I got were in a solid clear tube, but it was not flexable. It come in sections of around six foot long and the electrician had to cut it and silicone the ends of the tube to prevent water from getting in and shorting them out.
The lights on mine are 5/16" SKL Amber square Krystal lights.
You might want to look them up on Goggle. The manufacture is Vista manufacturing.

Corvette is too low for a dolly tow. Need a double axle trailer to haul. Now as to the tires 235/80 are too small for a Signature Monaco. Sully is correct on his post.

I had a cover on mine last year and it was working just fine, until I decided to use the coach and it had about eight inches of snow on top. It was very hard to remove the snow because it had already iced up. But if you are not going to use the coach until the snow is gone, I guess it would be good.

The Phaeton is a nice looking coach, but the floor plans are a lot to be desired. If you compare the interior of both of this coaches, you can see why you pay more for the bus. Phaeton is a good coach, but a bad comparison.

On plastic or ultraleather as they call it, you can use a verity of cleansers. But on real leather you have to be careful as to what you use. You have to use stuff that is specificly for leather or else you could damage the color on it.

Never seen anything like that. First time I have ever heard of knats in a frig. Only thing I can think of is when you open the frig door they flew in, then you closed the door and they died in there.

First thing to get across is that for what you want to spend, you are not going to find a diesel for that price especially a high end Monaco. You will find some nice gasoline motorhomes for that price. I believe Monaco made a gasoline motorhome called La Palma.

RE: Front door on DP limiting the view?
Never have had that problem with my coach. It has a window on the upper half of the door and a rectangular window in the bottom part of the door. I thought most coaches had those two windows, but if it doesn't it would create a blind spot that you will not be able to see with the wide angle mirror.
Look for another coach if you don't like something. Plenty of other coaches out there. I am sure you will eventually find exactly what you want.
