RE: Extra Long Sewer Hose

Get yourself a macerator pump and you can use a 50 foot garden hose to dump your stuff. Jim

RE: Tandem Tow (type) dolly with suspension

I have not seen one with suspension. We have over 15,000 miles towing our tandem tow HDXL with none of the issues you mention. The vehicle you are towing has suspension and absorbs quite a bit of the rougher roads we encounter. Jim

RE: A rendezvous in Marysvale Utah

We left Marysvale today after riding with Rubiranch, The Texan and Doug from ATVTV. What a blast it was. I would recommend the new modern South 40 RV Park because it has enough large sites for a larger group like I am hoping to see next fall. Not to mention the owners are fantastically friendly and accommodating. The park has mostly pull thrus with enough room for people who double tow. Here is a photo of the park when we were there. Lots of sites to choose from with 360 degree views. Hope to see you there next fall! Jim http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3487/3991367276_0693ab5eb6.jpg

RE: Free Mini Cooper Bra

Doug, we will be in Marysvale Utah by Oct 5th for about 2 weeks. Then we are headed towards Cottonwood Arizona. Bob, I will contact you if Doug and I can't connect. If I asked for shipping fees, rv.net moderators would delete this post. Jim

Free Mini Cooper Bra

We have a Mini Cooper full front tow car shield from Coastline Cover. We purchased it to fit a 2006 Mini Cooper S. We sold the mini and want to give away the cover. I will not ship it so if you are interested in it you have to be near us. Our location is in our signature. Jim

ATV, Paiute Trail, Marysvale question

We plan on being in Marysvale to ride the Paiute Trail on our polaris RZR in early to mid October. Can anyone suggest an RV park that will accommodate a 40 foot motor home. We can do without hookups but a dump station and available water would be great. Being close to the trails would be great but I am told you can drive an atv on the roads. How busy is this area in early October. Thanks Jim

RE: Even Brake

I have an Even Brake and if I had to do it over again I would have bought the BrakeMaster. The EvenBrake is a bit of a pain to set up and is bulky. This should answer all your questions. Jim

RE: Disappointment - Michigan State Parks - Mclain

Well, we had our first (and likely last) experience with Michigan State Parks. We stayed two nights at Mclain State Park (UP, Keweenaw Penisula). $78 for two nights and no usable facilities. They share the power post with multiple campsites and we would have needed an additional 100' extension cord to reach it. We had to run the generator. No water hookups on site. Temporary road full of potholes, they wouldn't even bother to fill them with sand or gravel. It was a pretty park, but we were much happier with the Hiawatha National Forest campgrounds (Colwell Lake, Brevoort Lake, Bay Furnace) where we stayed ($6 and $8 with Golden Age Passport). Unfortunately, there are no federal campgrounds in the Keneenaw. The NF campgrounds have no more (or less) facilities than Mclain, but they have more spacious campsites and more solitude...and are a lot more economical. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" isn't true with Michigan State Parks, IMO. Ken You could have stayed at Hougton City Park (full hook ups, on the water and 25$ a night) and day tripped the 40 mile trip to Copper Harbor. Jim

RE: HELP!! Hail Damage and Wood Rot Claim

I put a cover on it the night of the hail and it was sitting for 2 months under the cover. That is why I think the rain got in just enough that did not show up immediately, but spread when it was covered. There was NO rot before June. Are you saying you covered it after the hail storm and didn't look at it for 2 months? Now you notice some damage? Jim

RE: If You Have Oil Filled Front Bearings - Heads UP!!

This is a great lesson to remember to read all Chassis manuals and or seek information on what preventative maintenance is required on equipment you operate. Glad yo didn't have a larger bill. Safe travels. Jim

RE: Winnebago Fiberglass Roof

I have a similar dent on my 2007 Vectra. I have seen many Winnebagos with small dents in the fiberglass just where the roof curves to the side wall. It is not a dent caused by impact, it has no crease and it has not caused any ill effect for us. Just make sure the sealant is still in place where the roof curve meets the side wall at the drip rail. Jim

RE: Solar 30% tax credits for TC's too!

We purchased and installed a 3000 dollar solar system on our motor home (primary residence). We used an earlier version of this tax credit for the system. We received a 30% credit of our cost for the solar system with no red flags flying as of yet on our 2007 taxes. If we were still full-timing in the TC I would have done the same. Jim

RE: Chevrolet S-10 pickup 4 X 4 toad question

We tow a 2003 S-10 Auto 4x4 ZR2 4 down and on a dolly. This year model transfer case can not be put in neutral and needs a drive shaft disconnect kit. We now have a need for a 4 door pickup and will be selling the S-10 with or without the disconnect kit. Jim

My guess is they are pulling a large boat or some type of trailer behind the truck. Jim
