RE: FYI - Shuttle Launch rescheduled - STS 131 Discovery

Wow Al, I'd love to watch it go up. I was working at Edwards Air Force Base when it first did it's landings there and was carted off by the 747's. That was way cool seeing it land. I know it's coming to an end for the shuttle flights. Sure wish I could see it blast off just one time. I'll live it through you Al. Please take some pic's for us all. Joe

RE: Emerald Desert RV Park

Me and my girlfriend just stayed there over Valentine's Day and Prez Day. Did Friday to Tuesday. Hey, I thought it was a awesome place to stay. Had a great space (#138) and the rate was only $58 a night. Way better then the room rates that weekend that were up as high a $200. I'll drag that trailer behind me any day for that savings. We did the Pool, the Hot Tub, Golf the whole 9. Even won some money at Agua Caliente Casino which is only a few minutes away. I say go for it. I know we'll go back. Have Fun. Joe

RE: 5TH Wheel Hitch

I've had 3 Pullrite hitch's. 2 superglide's and a superhitch. I can't even think about another brand for me. If your willing to spend the money to be worry free (a few noise's and clunks aside) The Superglide is the only way to go IMO. Every guy I have talked to and know that has a rig that needs to side back to make any kind of tight turn with a shortbed wish's they went to the Superglide.

RE: Finally, A Led Replacement Bulb That Works!!!

I wish I would have saw this when I got my trailer back. Every single bulb was gone. Inside and out. I went the cheap way out to get things up and running again. I'll look into these. Thanks for info Derwud ;-)

RE: Costco 6V Batts

Just got 2 from the CostCo over by Glendora off the 210, the one in Azusa didn't carry them. $75 is what I paid too.

RE: Remote Start for Onan 5500

I happen to have the remote start for the Onan 5500. The generator was removed from the trailer, but the remote which was installed inside the trailer was unbolted but was left hanging by the wire's (long story). I don't think I'll ever replace the Onan 5500. More than likely I'll just go to a Honda gen set of one type or another. PM me and will see if this is what your looking for. Joe

RE: KZ RV

I would sure hate to see KZ go away due to the economy. I haven't had one major problem with my KZ New Vision. It's as fit as the day I picked it up.

RE: Class A Non Commercial

I've also been talking (trash) about taking this test, for a few years now. The trailer disappeared for about a year so it was a non-issue, but it's back now and almost in 100% shape to hit a few long trips. It's time to get this over with and quit talking about it. Thanks for the push guys. Great write up McKenziek on the fine points of the test.

Judy D wrote: You know guys maybe you better stop and think about the other half. Think we wouldn't like to just take off leave you with the kids , school, bills . house payments. etc and go have some fun on our own. We sure wouldn't mind picking witch channel we would like to watch. what we would like or not like to eat or even if we wanted to fix something to eat ! or what we think might be interesting to check out for intertainment. So be careful what you wish for you might just be the next luck dog. Judy kwlincoln wrote: Hey Judy. There is no need to come here and ruin the fantasy for the rest of us guys who want to imagine life single again. It's this kind of thing you're doing here that makes us have these thoughts to begin with. Some of us need a mental escape from time to time. Boy could I tell you guys a story.......... hehehe;-)

RE: 50 amp service - what have I gained?

Somebody stole my 50amp cord, 30amp cord and 50 to 30amp adapters. So I down graded the wall socket on the side of the trailer to a 30amp to save some money on new cords and adapters. I only have one AC unit so 30amps works for me. Plus I don't miss lugging around that monster 50amp cord. I can always put the 50amp socket back on if I get a second AC unit. And most of the RV parks I've been to only have 30amp outlets as it is.

RE: gap between truck bed and 5th wheel

I was running with about 6" clearance and it wasn't enough. I crushed the underside of my trailer and put a nice little dent in the corner of my truck bed. I think there's a lot of factors in what a guy needs for clearance. Like how long the trailer is, where the axles are, and just what kind of bump or valley are you driving through. My mishap happen while driving off into a pretty steep road that was very off camber. In other words the truck was dipping one way while the trailer was leaning the other. Making for a bad mix. Get as much clearance as you can get and keep the trailer - truck as level as possible.

RE: removable 5th wheel hitch

I've had 3 Pullrite hitch's and can't say enough about how good they are. I'm real happy with there products and there super rail system makes it a snap to remove the hitch. Good luck on your choice. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/jakridge1/Hitch1.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/jakridge1/SuperglideHitch.jpg

RE: Anybody haul model airplanes?

toprudder, Good luck with your new KZ toy/plane hauler. They work great for hauling planes around from event to event. I was able to haul my (2) 1/4 scale float planes, 120 Ultra Stick float plane, H9 P51, Neptune float plane and my Pylon Racer with all my tools, radios, EZup's, ice chest(s) BBQ and other BS in the 10ft garage of my 38' KZ New Vision. A few plane racks and stuff put away right and you can really haul some RC equipment around. Your going to love the space you have now. Have fun and post some pictures of the new rig for us. RE: ford f250 shortbed/5th airborne vs pullrite help

I just installed a Superglide 18K in my 06' Dodge MegaCab for the second time. (long story :E)It worked flawless the first time I used one. Anyways, I looked hard at the 5th Airborne hitch this time around, but went back with the Superglide. There was something about the size of the Airbourne and the fact it hung on the trailer that turned me away the second time. Calcing it out dollar for dollar for purchase of new units wasn't a big deal either way. Of course the final decideing factor for me was I had allready installed a Superglide in that truck once. All the holes were drilled and all my underbed plate markings where still showing, makeing for a simple install. And the fact I found a like brand new S.G. 18K with super rails and full mounting kit that came off a 06' MegaCab just like mine for a sweet $880.00 bucks sold me. The guy was using white grease and he lived out on dirt roads and the hitch looked like hell, but after a little work it looks like brand new. Im using SlipPlate this time around also. I think both units come from good companys, but stuck with Pullrite....AGAIN..... the third time. I found my newest hitch on Craigslist. Don't be afraid to check there or Ebay. Some good deals out there right now.

RE: Anybody know a good RV hauler in Indiana ?

Dave, Darryl thanks for the suggestions. It made it home safe and sound. Now to start rebuilding it. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/jakridge1/ToyHauler4-9-09.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e24/jakridge1/Toyhaulerpic4-9-09.jpg

RE: Anybody know a good RV hauler in Indiana ?

Well guys my KZ New Vision is on it's way back to California. YESSSSS!!!! It was stripped of all the Mod's I put on it, and less the TV's, couch, table & chairs, mattress, ceiling fan and 5.5 Onan. The guy hauling it back said the inside and outside are in perfect condition, not one dent or scratch. So that's a plus.
