I expect to be traveling to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina about the 10th of March or thereabouts. I have relatives in Mount Pleasant and would like to find a campground in the area without having to cross the Cooper River Bridge into Charleston. If anyone knows of a campground in Mount Pleasant, I would appreciate knowing and if someone can give their opinion of it. Thanks in Advance

We've stayed at the KOA. Great staff and no bad surprises.

We've stayed at the KOA - its a "converted plantation" with a few interesting sights. Mainly the many species of birds that come to the fresh-water pool. We have been told an alligator comes too, but only in the middle of summer. The campground is convenient and accessible, and, of course, clean.

You only have one camp ground and that is KOA. However if you are willing to stay about 10 miles up Hwy 17, then you also should check out Buckhall. Its a public camp ground with water and electric , but much quitter.
