Obviously its a matter of choice but the way I see it, the kitchenette should be opposite the entry door so that the table and couch is on the side with door, and outer canopy (so called patio area) lol. This makes for better viewing the outside patio area. Make any since? lol What do you feel about this?

still looking for the perfect 5th wheeler

That is the way our 5th wheel is designed and we like it. All of the appliances, entertainment center are on the opposite side and the sofa and dinette are on the door side with windows.

Interesting concept that I wouldn't have looked at. Guess because I don't spend alot of time indoors and when I am, its prep'ing food for dinner. Kitchen window affords my view of patio. Most manfacturers use the same or similar layouts for 5ers as TTs.
The model TT I'm moving to frm my present TT has the kitchen across the wall to the bdrm and L-shaped to the opposite side of trailer with couch. Dinette overlooks patio though.
Rather like your opinion though especially if one has yungins!

But...

On many fivers, the seating area (dinette/table/couch) is in a slideout. If that is on your door side, the slideout will jut out into your "patio" area. It will also make working the awning awkward, if possible at all.

For us, most of the time we are sitting on the couch with our backs to the window. We are looking forward which puts our gaze out the opposite side of the trailer (for us the door/patio side). If our couch was on the door side, we would be looking out the "backside" when seated.

When seated at the dinette, we are usually looking at the food! he he

The floor plan was number one on our priority list. We hated the idea of turning our head to the left (by the stairs) to watch TV. We don't have that set-up at home, why would we want it in our home-away-from-home? We have a triple slide: 2 slides opposite each other (kitchen & entertainment center and sofa/dining), and 1 in the bedroom. I think our entry door is considered in the middle (?) (next to the stairway to bedroom). I didn't want rear entry because I wanted privacy when I sat watching TV. And I didn't want the outdoors tracked indoors through my livingroom. Like I said, this was detriment to our choosing our Cross Roads Paradise Pointe PF30CK. We love it. Everyone has their own personal preference, I'm sure you'll find the floor plan that fits your lifestyle. We went to a couple of RV show, that way you can see and compare a lot of the models and floorplans. Good luck in your choosing.

One of the things that I like about our rear kitchen is that we have large windows on both sides of the seating area and a large window at the dining area. Small window in the rear, but at a lot of campgrounds my rear window looks out on someone else's rear window.

I prefer that layout also, but when you have the large slide on the door side your awning size will be less. So, keep this in mind if a larger awning area is what you prefer.

That layout is like mine and we like it very much but if you get slides on both sides make sure the refrig. is on the end so you can get to it when the slides are in. On mine I have to put the side out to get to the refrig. Not good.

I really like our layout, kitchen is in the back, dinette and sofa on the slide out....but... we have two swival chairs with a flip table in between, also three large windows looking out on the door side. the windows really sold it for me, and the rear kitch for my wife, nobody getting in the way on the way to the bathroom or bedroom.

One of the most important things in layout to us was the RV had to be usable with the slides in. The second was the picture window in the rear with comfortable recliners that can be swung around to look out the windows. Very nice when you back up to that nice lake or look out on the mountains. We elected to not have the galley on a slide - - heard some negatives with problems with that layout.
