Considering a Class "A" that is priced way way below NADA...say 60% off. But, consignment salesman says coach stinks to high heaven...probably have to strip out everything and replace. Does anyone know how would work on a thing like this? If one replaced couch, dinette, all chairs, carpet...would that do it???
Priced less than 30k for what should sell for about 55k to 60k
Opinions anyone? Can we put 10-15k and have a good coach??? Would you have to change bulkhead material and ceilings or appliances?

You don't say what the smell is from. If it's from cat urine, you probably have to replace everything. Doggy smell is easier to deal with. You could try having the carpet and upholstry professionally cleaned and go from there. If it truly is worth that much more than you're paying for it....go for it and at least replace the carpet.

OOps wasn't done. Yes, they were probably smokers and in that case it will be really difficult to get rid of the smell as it permiates the walls. Unless of course you are also smokers then it might not bother you.

If it was cats and they urinated in places other than their litter box then that smell can be next to impossible to remove. There are very good enzymes on the market that will get the smell out but depending on how often it happened and whether or not it got to the floor underlayment can make it extrememly difficult.
We rented a place where a cat used a spot in a bedroom. This place was on a concrete slab, it took many applications of enzyme to get rid of the odor. As one poster stated dog odors are easy to remove, clean the carpets and furniture, its as simple as that.

Odors are not ever easy to remove. Cat odors are the worst. I would consult with carpet cleaners/fire or crime scene restoration companies and see what they have to say. The experts have the answers, where many times its just our opinions. Good Miles and

If you purchase it and if you have the carpets and sofa cleaned I would also recommend setting out several boxes of baking soda throughout the coach for the rest of the summer. That should help. Good luck!

Last year we looked at a two year old, very high end coach that had a smell beyond description ( smoking, cooking and animals) but the price was very attractive. I contacted a professional bus/RV reconditioner to find out if the odor could be removed. Their response was if the price vs value isn't low enough to support completely gutting and replacing the interior don't buy it. They also commented that in hot/humid weather the odors would return no matter what they could do short of complete interior replacement. I'd give this a lot of thought. Good luck.

I have kitties (although not in my motor home) and one weekend while we were away one of them got locked in the finished basement.
She was kind enough to pee in only one spot on the landing going up the stairs, but boy did it stink.
After giving her lots and lots of extra lovin', I tried to steam clean the area - did not work.
I went to the pet store and got some spray on enzyme odor remover - did not work because the kitty pee had penetrated the carpet, probably down to the underlayment, and the spray only worked on the top of the carpet and did not soak in.
So, back to the pet store - found a liquid enzyme odor remover and SOAKED, I mean SOAKED the landing and let it dry.
ODOR IS GONE!!! Yipee! Next project - pet door in the basement door so this does not happen again!
