Also posted in Class A forum. Please see HERE.

I'm getting ready to remove the large awning from my rig to repair it, because of bad fabric, and too impliment some roof repair along the seem. I need to remove the molding along the roof also. I was wondering if anyone has done this, and would consider providing some detailed instructions.

After reading all the existing threads, My understanding is that you can ruin the hardware for the system if not careful, specifically you can break the windup return spring, resulting in purchasing a completly new unit. I would like to avoid this if possible.

Thanks & Best Regards Indy

Go to the web site of your awning manufacture and they have instructions for removal and replacement ,including how to unwind the spring safely.
