Hi folks, we need some feedback on Outdoor Resorts in Gatlinburg. I think it is called Gatlinburg RV Resort. We are planning a trip to Gatlinburg in August. I understand Twin Creeks RV Resort is nice close sites) but I can not find any comments on Outdoor Resorts. I tried RV Park Review but again no comments on Outdoor Resorts.
We will be traveling in a 40ft. motor home with 10yr old grand daughter.

Twin Creek is very nice and close to Gatlinburg. yes, the sites are kinda close. The sites on the creek seem larger. Twin Creeks is also on the trolley stop, and has the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen in a campground. We have also stayed at Outdoor Resorts. It is about 15 miles from Gatlinburg. Very nice park with nice sites. Alot of people own the lots and have park models and campers on them. Some of the sites are also available for rental. It is a nice park with pretty landscaping. I would go back to either.

Whatever you do, keep the rig out of the town. They have extremely narrow streets, the poles and signs are right on the curb and extend into the roadway, and the streets are highly crowned, so the rig leans to the curb. Oh yeah, people and kids all over the place and traffic jams Washington DC would be envious of. Other than that it's a unique place.
Good luck with the trip. Oh, did I mention very few places to turn around?

We stayed at Twin Creek last last summer and thought it to be a very nice park and very convenient to downtown Gatlinburg. We did have a negative experience and will think twice about staying there again. We wanted to leave a couple of days earlier than we had paid for due to one of the many hurricanes around Labor Day weekend that was supposed to dump heavy rains and wind about the time we were scheduled to leave and we wanted to get home before it hit. They would not give us a refund! They run a very nice park (family owned and run) but have some of the strictest rules we have ever encountered. Oh, another thing, when you make reservations they required a non-refundable deposit to hold your site, no matter what happened that you could not make it.

As much as we like Twin Creeks RV resort, if an Outdoor Resort was available in an area, it would have to be awfully inconvenient to the desired area for us not to stay there. We have never been to an Outdoor Resort that wasn't terrific. That said, I didn't know there was one (OR) in the Gatlinburg area so I can't comment, because we've always been staying at Twin Creeks.
As far as the rules go, boy, don't even think of starting a motorcycle engine there. I think they'd have a conniption. No telling what they'd do. I don't even think they let you in there if you're towing or otherwise have a motorcycle. They asked me no less than 3 times if I had a motorcycle.
BUT, on the bright side, I DID get to practice the German that I took for 6 years and they seemed a bit surprised and maybe even slightly happy (well as happy as that group gets) that I at least made an effort to talk to them in German.
I'm definitely going to check in to this Outdoor Resort in Gatlinburg. I absolutely love every one of those places I've been. Nothing's been better or more expensive either, but definitely VERY nice.

I have some friends who like to stay at Outdoor Resorts, and really like it. I have rode thru and it seems nice. Lots of permanent sites, but hardly anyone there. If I remember right, all the sites were concrete or paved. It is a little ways out of Gatlinburg. Like the other poster said, the streets are narrow and not rig friendly. I'd park at one of the free lots on the outskirts of town and ride the trolley. I think the trolley is 25 or 50 cents. Pigeon Forge is more rig friendly and easier to find parking, but they have a trolley too.

I posted on this park a few days ago. Haven't been there in some time but the sites are roomy for a large coach, many have personalized patios done by the owners. Many sites are on a rippling creek that runs through the park. Very quiet, good pool and all the anemities you would expect at an ORA. Golf course right down the road. The other park is closer to town but not as plush. Have no idea what the price comparison is between the 2 but used to be small difference. Enjoy which ever one you choose.

If your thinking of driving out to Outdoor Resorts, drive just a little further and use Great Smoky Mountain Jellystone. Very nice shady sites, streams running through, pool, game room, small carpet golf and nice playground. Plenty for the grand daughter to do there. Sites are gravel but they are level, full hooks with cable TV. We were there in May and are ready to head back.
Look at this site for more information on Twin Creek, Outdoor Resort and Jellystone.

I concur regarding Twin Creeks. Nice clean park; but, site way too small, too close together! And rules!!! When we went to leave, the people across from us had to move their tow vehicles so we could pull out. The sites are so small, you have to park tv in street in front of trailer. Glad we went but will stay somewhere else next time.

I'd choose Twin Creek IF they allowed my dog in my pop-up.
