BBBRRRRR...16 degrees here, supposed to get up to a tropical 36 today...At least it's sunny and clear and the wind has died down to some extent...yesterday was just plain cold...Got all of a "skiff" of snow here, none on the roads, but some in the yard...We're at a little over 2200' here, but higher up where it's above 3500' they got several inches of snow...Mt. Mitchell at a little over 6,000' got about 6" of snow, so in reality, it was a winter bust....but I'll still take it.

Hope all of you are well and having a great weekend....heading into my 6 day work week this week, was nice being off on a Saturday and a Sunday..looking forward to taking the 5er back up to our property in WV on Greenbriar River..maybe another month...we'll see....

later, y'all....

on edit: diesel up to $3.99 now at local fuel stations....Near my work, I can get it for $3.83, but son..guess if I take the 5er up to WV and bring the truck back, we'll make most of our trips up and back in the Jeep Patriot....need 4 wheel drive, and it'll get 24 mpg highway, beats 15 mpg with the dually....Heard fuel prices, gas as well as diesel could easily go over $4.00 + a gallon in the next several months...got to love it.

I know at "almost" 62, I'm younger than some, older than a lot that frequent these forums, but I really can remember when diesel was around 15 cents a gallon and even though I was buying gas as a 16 yr. old in 1966, lowest I ever saw gas was in 1971 in Wichita Falls TX, when they had gas wars and you could buy a gallon of gas for around 18 cents a gallon.
Seems a life time ago.....oh, well.....guess that ain't much we can do about it, huh...

ON THE OIL CRISIS

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in:
~~~
ALASKA
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Coastal Alabama
~~~~
Coastal Mississippi
~~~~

North Dakota
~~~
Wyoming
~~~
Colorado
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania
~~~
And
~~~
Texas
~~~
Our dipsticks are located in DC
~~~
Any Questions? NO? Didn't think So
It is pretty chilly here. Dont know the temp, but when I got in my car today about 9:30am, that info thing was telling me to be careful as the road could be icy. Yesterday we had our blizzard of 2012. We could just barely see the 12 flakes that constitute a blizzard in SC. I managed to drive up to concord NC and could not believe the wind. My mother did tell me today that it is pretty windy in Missouri today too. Sounds as tho that wind was a national thing.
Barbandwayne, nice to meet you. I am a crabby old lady and I live in south carolina. I do make it to Missouri at least once every year. My parents live in sedalia. I think our trip there this year will occur in may. We camp at the Missouri state fair grounds. They have full hookups there. nothing fancy, but it is close to home. I hope you dont mind hearing me brag about my grand kids.
Got to hit the bricks here. that undercover boss tv program is almost ready to air
..a little nicer today, got all the way up to 48 degrees and was sunny....was 25 degrees this morning.
ro sie, found out something today that I thought was kinda cool....Todds RV, where I think you all went to get your MH worked on and where I purchased several of my rv's is now a Camping World facility....I heard about it at the RV show Saturday and called out there today and the lady that answered the phone said, "Hello, Camping World of Asheville"...hey, I'm glad, Now I have a Camping World within 15 miles of my place...prices on everything will drop as of this past weekend. They're supposed to have their "grand opening" Feb. 25th I believe. Don't know what all they'll do or offer, but that is a BIG place with a LOT of room and bay's to work on rv's and it's in an awesome location right off I26....I'll be anxious to see what they'll offer as far as services, etc...
anyway, thought I'd share. Hope all of you are well and having a great day...later....gator..
Prety neat info NC. We do have a camping world in Spartanburg. We run in there once in a while when we need somethng, but for service, we go to todds. We had a couple of bad service calls over in Spartanburg. Once they overfilled the oil doing a change and it blew it out the exhaust all over my car. (guess who got to clean it) then on the fridge recall, they kinda messed that up and when I told them it didnt keep ice cream in the freezer frozen, they said some freezers didnt. Then the fridge quit. I insisted on taking the moho up to todds and they said it hadnt had the recall done properly. Wound up getting a whole new fridge. Nw we dont even discuss it, we just go to Todds. I am glad they are becoming a camping world. Now they will carry a lot more extras. Maybe I can get Art to make a run up there for the opening. It would be fun welcoming them into the camping world family. BTW, the sun is shining here. Had to get that weather report in Got to run, I have the dishwasher and the washing machine waiting.................see yas
I know I replyed to you yesterday NC. Maybe i was too outspoken about camping world in spartanburg. In any case, I really like todds. I put the 25th on my calender and maybe art and I will take a quick run up there on that saturday to welcome them into the camping world company. I really like those people and prefer them to anyone else doing repairs on our moho. They do have excellent facilities there. They have some beautiful units there for sale also. Art would really like to trade up, but I drag my feet. hate getting into that payment thing. clear title means a lot to me. Getting up there would mean a nice joy ride in my old car too BTW, it is lovely here today. weatherman said the mid 60's here today and the sun is shining!
...I don't have to work that weekend so Kathy and I will probably go out there Saturday sometime....They will still have same parts manager and one of the same service managers and, I believe, all the service techs....Let me know if you and Art decide to go and maybe Kathy and I can meet up with you out there....If something changes about their grand opening, I'll let you know....
oh...it was 34 degrees this morning, was sunny and got up to 62 here today...believe they're calling for a chance of rain over the next 3 or 4 day's or so....
hope your all well and having a great day....catch ya later.
I ran that by Art, NC, and he thinks that would be a go. Maybe we can all find a place to sit down and share a cup of coffee. we should have some moms around on saturday so we can run away from the little kids. Gracie should be able to keep the new pup in line. altho he already our weighs her and pulls her hair, she snaps at him and he will go lay down and give her a sorrowful look. it is over cast here this am. Looks like rain really. But.... thats ok we can use a little liquid. still pretty dry here. Gotta get so I can move laundry from one machine to another. see yas
