I use the big plastic/rubber boxes and bungee cords.

Works great with kids, each has their own and can fill it with what toys and junk they want. While setting up camp each can grab their box and play while we get organized. They know if they don't pack the box when leaving it's "finders-keepers" for the next set of campers.

Our trailer is a 6x12 Wells Cargo, we often haul the motorcycles and I dont want the obstacles of built in shelving either.

Come visit camper country. I see that many going to work some mornings.

We have a Aluma 6X10 enclosed cargo trailer with a 2' V-Nose and like the plastic containers. We also have some loose items like our Honda 2000 generator, fuel tanks, bicycles, portatble gray tank, and satelite cube that we secure with bungee-cords on the "E-Track" and tie-down rings. I can also fit in a motorcycle.

An enclosed cargo trailer offers a lot of storage room and versatility. It's a great addititon for a TC.

i am setting mine up right now. it is a 7x14 v nose. i bought it so i could bring along my buggy and zodiac boat/outboard when i camp. i can also bring along all the other things that make a camp feel like home whithout have the camper full of stuff or having to climb up and down the ladder with things. all while having the security to lock up while you are away. the trailer will also act as a living room and guest quarters.

here is what i have done so far:

First i flipped the axles to give me more clearance for offroad use. it is dual axle so it rides pretty well over the bumps. i bought a blue 30 gallon drum for xtra water. i have a poop water tote to double my black water tank capacity. i replaced the electric brake battery with a 125 amp hr deep cycle for more power. i ran wires to a bus terminal and wired up a shurflow pump and a d/c outlet to run an inverter or whatever d/c appliance. i painted the floor with durabac bedliner. i cut out a hole in the skin to install a 9x9 rv access panel with plumbing from the pump to a garden hose fitting and to run a/c power in and out of the trailer. i built a work bench that is hindged to so i can fold it up so i dont lose loading space. i also installed wire shelving purchased at home depot. the shelving is hung from the wall not the type pictured in the previous post. ive istalled various eye screws to secure things and will install more when i see how things need to be situated. i also am going to put in some baskets/bins on the walls to hold smaller things that are harder to strap down.

having a small lance 815 with limited capacity, it will allow me to stay out much longer with ease.

i will take some pics tommorrow. maybe it can give you some ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. The more input the easier it is to make good choices and avoid things that didn't work out.

I tow a 28' car trailer behind my TC, with more stuff than you can imagine (and two cars and two scooters, not two motorbikes). I keep almost everything on the floor, in rubbermaid bins. yeah, major PITA to load and unload the cars, but major benefit in weight distribution - both front/rear to balance the tongue weight, and keeping the load low to drastically reduce sway. You don't need to tie down the bins, they don't move much, and you can stack them a couple high with no problems. I have tens of thousands of miles loaded like that...

cheers, Brian

I wanted a 14' enclosed to haul the stuff I needed. So I opted for a 7x16' so I could put storage in the first 2'. It was only $200 more than the 14'.

Since this photo I have added an insulated ceiling, cross bars in front of the shelves (to hold stuff in) a rubber boat with an outboard motor.

I am presently working on installing a receptacle to plug an extension cord into the outside of trailer and have an outlet on the inside for stuff like my battery tender.

It has worked out extremely well for me. With all the extra gas and water I can spend weeks in the boondocks vs days.

We pull a 10x6 enclosed behind our MoHo and TC. You have to be careful that not to much weight is up front. The plastic bin idea is good so you can move the weight around to keep the tongue weight at the right capacity. If you put storage shelves up front that could be a problem.
