Hi LoveTwoCamp, you might consider something like we have on our truck. It is a homemade design, but very effective. We carry 2 kayaks and 2 mountain bikes. it's very stable, even in cross winds. See our profile page.
Good luck,
Roy

How about an inflatable in the basement..
I've looked long and hard at what I can carry to play on the water with and an inflatable is going to be my first attempt.

Sounds like you have your kayaks, but here is information on our 17' kayak we keep in our basement! Folbot Pricey but holds the two of us and has a sail kit which we love.

DH's homemade canoe rack below. We've driven thousands of miles and many hundreds of miles of gravel roads with this setup.
We'll likely be adding a couple of kayaks to our toy collection this year, so DH is thinking the back rack will be replaced with a factory-made roof rack, so there's more options to accommodate shorter length of watercraft.

I had the same question with my cabover camper - bought a folding kayak (Folbot). It tracks well, paddles easily, but is a bit of a chore to fold and unfold. I'm getting better at it...
Now that I have the fiver, it's easy to toss it into the bay.
I haven't gotten good reports on how trackable inflatables are - probably depends on the make and design.
Current stable:
'97 F350 CC 4x4 SWD/'97 Coachmen Ranger cabover camper, 11.5'
DataStorm Satellite Internet w/ 'a/b' Internal WiFi (I'm here!)
'92 Coachmen class 'B', Chevy van chassis.
In Tow:
Folbot Yukon folding kayak.
Bike Friday Gnu/Sat-R-Day folding bikes.
