It sure outta work but I sometimes have problems with photobucket too,
So, I started using Tiny Pic instead.

Here is how to post pictures that are hosted on Photobucket.com (Note: This tutorial assumes you have two windows or tabs open - one for the post and one for Photobucket.Com)
Place the mouse cursor over the picture and a menu will appear.
If your picture is no more than 640 pixels wide, copy the IMG Code URL. (Just clicking on the URL will copy it.)
Paste that URL into your post. (You should hit the Enter key before pasting. Generally, pictures should be inserted at the beginning of a new line.)
If your picture is more than 640 pixels wide, copy the Direct Link URL.
Open the message windows Image tool, 
Paste the Direct Link into the URL field and enter 640 in the Width field. Leave the Height field blank; the display engine will adjust the height to keep the dimensions in proportion.
Click on the Finished button.
