I emailed Rancho Buganvilias to see about reserving for this upcoming season and received the following response stating that the local Indians have claimed the land as theirs forcing a closure of the park. Such a shame as it looked like a great park.

Hi Ken,

Sadly, we have some very bad news to share with you. Within the past few months this area has experienced an Indian uprising driven by the Indian community believing that a piece of land was theirs and taking the land by force. The land that was in question was very near us and we were concerned about opening this season due to the safety of our guests. Now, the Indians have advanced the land grab and taken more land, including ours. So, it is clear to us that this situation is not going to be resolved anytime soon making it impossible for us to open this season. We will be updating our website soon. We hope that in the future we are able to open again and have you as our guest. Until then, we do not suggest you traveling south of this area. It is not safe.

Thanks.

Sandy & Cynthia

Good, the white man stole it from the Indians, I'm glad to see them retaliating. Now if they can make their claim stick in a court of law, which they have been very successful at recently, it will return to it's rightful owners.

Texan.... I guess you'd be happy to hand over your property to the local native americans if that's how you feel about land grabs.

Of the properties I now own, 2 are in areas that the native Americans have laid a paper claim to and I may loose them. I bought them with the knowledge that they could be claimed and I don't have title insurance because of that, so yes I may have to hand them over to the Indians.

It's a sad situation. In reality, nothing is really ours, everything in this life is temporary.

This is very sad. RB is a great park with as great owners. The area is idea for someone who is active and loves to play in the warm water while eating tropical fruit & fish. I truly hope this gets resolved with as little pain as possible. Good luck to Cynthia & Sandy!

Texan not to worry as a member of the Creek Nation I will try to get you camping rights should we take your homestead. The Seminoles were part of the Creek Nation before the Trail of Tears and still have cultural ties.

So I guess that means no RV parks between Manzanillo & Zihuatenejo. I wonder if the highway between the 2 is safe?

I feel bad for Cynthia and Sandy. What a hard working young couple. I'd like to hear more about why they thin this would make the highway unsafe though. This kinda thing happens all the time in North America but usually doesn't turn violent. I scanned the local news and didn't see anything in the papers. Sure is a beautiful stretch of coastline though. Hope it doesn't impact the tourism too much for the local folks.

And I hope Cynthia and Sandy get there property and there dream back.

Is this more ejido land ??? that has been bought and sold un'till , the sellers quit telling the buyers ???

As a good percentage of land in Mexico is ejido. this would not be the first case of ejido taking back land after it was developed.

What a shame. We only stayed for a few nights Last year and were hoping to again this season. Hopefully the Lease will be straightened out and Cynthia and Sandy will be able to reopen!
