All, thx for all the responses. As we make our way along with the posts you'll be up to where we are and then your suggestions will be more meaningful as we will know our time frames. We have some of the sights that have been mentioned above already inthe list of places.

as for fairfax it has been decades since I was there. We are staying at a campground in MD and using the train to visit DC. We have some places planned to see...my DW has that all soted out with my input. She has the travel book.

Spott...sorry we are not going to be that close, THX!!
Camper J nd K...I have to cruise left and one is the USC UW game on Sat..I am a USC trojan and my boat has the folks from Marshall school at USC, that wilol be fun. Then we are off on Sunday!
virgil...sorry we will not be here to meet you!
3291...thx for the comments and suggestions.
sleepy...HI in April 2010

Well it is beginning to get exciting...I left the table at home with the cloths that I'll need. We will be in all types of weather so I need to carry my polartec and my shorts and wear socks with my birks ( that is how you tell a person from the NW).

THX everyone, Capt PJ

PS if I don't respond to everyone, it isn't anything but time and keeping track...BUT be assured all is read! THX!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't D.C. have some ordinance against the operation of Truck Campers/RVs near the white house or in the D.C. proper area?

Just crossed into S.D. at Spearfish stopped at Safeway for grub stocking and they have wifi. We came from Devil's Tower in WY. Neat place a must see if you go that way. Pics later, grub is here and we got to be moving. Capt PJ

If you stopped in Spearfish, you are on I-90, not I-80 as in your first post. Beware, I-80 is no fun East of Omaha. a poor surface and lots and lots of semi's.

realter..you are right...I 90. Anyway we are in Indianapolis and have not had any wifi service until today...we have boondocked all the way so far until today...we are doing washing this evening after have spent the whole day with some good pals I have not seen in 15 years...off to the Speedway in the morning, then onto Columbus to meet up with another chum on Tuesday morning. these are a busy days getting to VA for the first. This place is supposed to have wifi at the site, but I am sitting in a covered area/picnic shed with a breeze and I think i'll wait to do the posating of pics.
Only had rain yesterday, more spray from the trucks than the sky.
Having a grand time! Capt PJ

Actually I 80 is no fun in southern Wyoming- to many semi's that will run you over rather than slow down- No hijack intended- Capt if you do get back towards the Wind River Range area- give us a shout!

We liked I-80 better than I-90 where it went through S Dakoda and Minn.. it's all good when you are traveling in a truck camper.

BTW... everytime we go to a high school reunion we boondock in the parking lot... we get a lot of visitors as friends drive by and just stop... handy!!! And we've parked overnight at the country club where they have the main event.

Think of it as ultimate tail-gateing.

see you soon

We're heading for the Outer Banks toward the end of October. Leaving New
Brunswick on the 20th of Oct, then southward bound. Only planned stop is
the Outer Banks, campgrounds don't close til mid November....hope the hurricanes
stay away. We will be in a Travel Hawk on a dk gray suburban, License: PIERCE

You don't see many Travel Hawks, but it's a dandy.
