Just having some fun guys. BTW, most of the UPS trucks running around here have the 444E or also known as 7.3Powerstroke under the bonnet. Guess I just prefer a V-8 for it's freer revving ability and wider powerband, but certainly not knocking the Cummins powerplant. I am actually quite disappointed that the boat I want to buy has recently stopped installing Cummins engines and instead went with lightweight high reving Yanmars. Guess for cost reasons.

Give Cpt Skup a little break, I have follow his post for years, and yes he has rattle me sometimes. In some cases he has a tendency to make you uneasy. Hey he Loves his Truck, and he should. I admit he does take care of his Truck. I did the same thing for years. But it just got to the point I didn't want to haul so much used oil. I buy my 15/40 by the 2.5 gal containers, just one of my Trucks takes 7 gals of oil to change. It just got to be to much hassle to dispose of all the Oil and filters. I have noticed a lot of changes in Dodge, as well as Ford. I think Ford will be going to their 3 or 4th Diesel next year, just maybe Ford will get it right this time. Hey just wait things will really change in the next 3 years or so, dont' know if it will or ever can be fix, what a mess. Good Luck. GBY....

This is a clearly marked Dodge thread. Capt. jumped in here on his own accord. The Ford guys, including the good Capt., throw a fit when anyone else posts anything (including factual info) in the Ford threads, especially the 6.0L PSD threads. He will get no sympathy from me!

The 5.9L Cummins evolved for almost 20 years under the hood of the Dodge Ram in it's original 5.9L design - introduced in 1987 as an '88 model. The engine has even more history than that though - in agriculture and industry. Tough, reliable, and powerful little powerplant.

This is the vehicle I hope to have a Cummins under the "Hood". 380hp 5.9QSB, not too shabby. See, you can wrap something purty around a Cummins

I looked at that boat at the boat show when I lived in California last year. Very nice package.

So, hemismith, you had the pleasure of owning a Hemi-powered Roadrunner? If it is long gone, I bet you wish you still owned it! My '69 RR had the 383, but it was still fast enough for me. Don

Yes, it was sold many years ago for nothing compared to what they are worth now. I do miss the torque of those big-block gassers of old (I had a '69 383 Charger as well).
