If I arrive at a campground late at night. I don't want to wake everyone up. I also don't want to have to turn the engine off when at the bank drive through so the teller can hear me talk. I like my quiet diesel.

I KNOW I'm not supposed to feel that way but the noise is one of the FEW things I don't like about my 6.0 diesel. It always SOUNDS like it's working really hard compared to the quiet power of the F-150 (which is actually working its' but off) on the same hill. Different power strokes for different folks I guess.

As long as I can pass most of the noisy, stinky ones and all the gassers, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet

Ford's here to sell more diesels, not please the handful of people who like diesel noise.

To that end, they want to address the main complaints people have with diesels:

1. They're noisy.
2. They're smelly.
3. They're messy.

A quiet diesel will sell more units.
This says it all.

I might even buy another diesel if I did not have to put up with the above
noise
smelly
messy
Thats the reason I sold the last one that I owned

Make a CD recording of a big rig accelerating down the road and put it the CD player. Or hum real loud.

The only diesels that make too much noise is the 12 valve commins. With the shut down to 2 days aweek for the cummins plant Ford might be what most of us will be driving someday.

After 100s of 1000s of miles on "noisy" diesels I prefer the quiet hum of my current diesel.

You guys can have those obnoxious clatter boxes. I love how quiet the new 6.4L PSD is in my work truck. Heck it is even loud when compared to 2009 Duramax, but it is way better than the 6.0L PSD it replaced.

Nothing quite like the sound of a "B" model cat at full song.

When I bought my first diesel, I couldn't make it loud enough, smoke enough or stink enough. I even said "I'll never own another gasser" (family and friends rolling eyes...). After 21 years of diesels, I got over it. I welcome my next diesel being quiet, clean and smoke free. Might even opt for the 6.4L UAW built F-250.

I have nothing to complain about on past and present diesels, good power and fuel economy. Gas was draining the wallet. JMO
