MS your problem is you don't understand. The tree huggers opinion is we need to help nature. LOL

By todays standards Muir and other like him that were involved in keeping lands from commercial interests would be tagged as tree huggers that certain conservative wackos love to bash. Not much has changed.

What would be the point of draining it now? It'll never be like it was. As one of the commentators said on the show once these places are ruined they're ruined for good.

Explain why it's ruined? It's just filled with water. Drain and let nature take it's course.

You are joking right?

Why do you think that's a joke? Just because it's filled with water doesn't mean it can't be drained. The trees and plants and everything else will come back with time. There is no reason at all to believe it's ruined for good. It may not return to what it was in our lifetime, but it will return. The canyon walls and the granite and all the waterfalls are all still there. Nature can fix what we did to it.

His stuff is long so I always record it. I'll watch it over several weeks. I'm a really big fan and supporter of national parks.
