byronlj & The Texan,
I'm not a member of Sams Club but, we visited there about 4-5 months ago and there were two different batteries there by the tire department. One was an "8" volt and one was the "6" volt. When you say you bought "golf cart batteries", #1, do you mean the 8V units for your golf cart or the 6V units. Obviously you can't use an 8V for RV house batteries but, with the right combo, you can use 8V units for golf carts.
If I recall there were two prices too. The DW says the 6V ones were around $79.00 ea. That's still a far cry from $139.00+. Thanks for your input.

Shop somewhere else.
don't blame the dealer, trojan raised the prices in 2008 and has not reduced them.
I paid $89 when i got mine 05 or 06

I bought 4 Excide 6 volt deep cycle batteries at a local auto parts store in 2004. Just got back from a NASCAR 4 day weekend where I ran off batteries from 4:00 pm to 9:00 am every morning. This included runing the fridge, furnace (it was 35 degrees in the evenings), lights, water pump, water heater, and inverter for Sat Reciever and television. We didn't even try to conserve power. Many times hade 7-8 lights on at a time and had the TV on for hours ..Had no issues with the 5 year old batteries, keeping up as long as I ran the genset 3-4 hrs a day. I charge with a Progressive Dynamics 80 amp converter/charger.

Probably made by US Battery. Interstate is just a distributer.
Either way it is a good battery.

I replaced my Trojans in a Sam's parking lot somewhere in Washington State this summer, when they failed to muster at the call of my inverter, the night before.
The thing about Sam's and other big chains is that they are everywhere and you can turn them back in while on the road, in case of failure during the warranty period. We also buy them for our golf carts, which is quite a savings when you're replacing 6 at a time. I eventually expect to see the new 12v golf cart battery at these stores and may be an upgrade by connecting two of these in parallel if there's room for them.

Scott Mine are 6V in the golf cart, not 8V. also, Sam's may be one of several brands, depending on the local distributor, but all are better than Trojan, for the price.
