Have searched various forums and have been unable to find the answer
I need.
We have a 2005 GeorgieBoy Pursuit II and the black tank valve is
leaking through the stem and down the handle. Leak is small.
Have placed a small container under the handle to collect the
drip.
How difficult a job is it to replace this valve. Appears to be
only three bolts that hold the valve. The work area is rather
confined. Would like to do this job myself and would appreciate
any advice as to the best procedure for completing this task.
Any and all comments will be appreciated. Thanks and Happy RV'ing!!

There are usually four bolts. Perhaps one is missing and that could be the cause of the leak.

The most difficult part is getting to them. Mine has four bolts and nuts. The entire valve is around $20 depending on where you get them..Make sure you determine which one you have before you get the new one to the rig and discover it won't fit. Recent thread from a fellow replaced his having to use a jack to help him get it back in place. Another fellow suggested document protectors on each side to help slide the new one back in..my black is easy the gray I would have a more difficult time. Might do a thread search for ideas?

Make sure the tank is empty before you start. Its not a bad job if you can get to it.

Easy work 30-60 mins. $20 part. Just need an empty black tank and a wrench.

I have had to cut off several seized nuts doing this.
While replacing the valve, replace the rust and seizure-prone steel hardware with stainless bolts and brass nuts (or all brass) to make it easier next time.

Many have trouble sliding/squeezing the new valve into position without damaging/twisting the seals. One easy way I found to do this is to place a soapy sheet of plastic (like a document protector) on each side of the new valve, then slide it into position. Once the valve is lined up in the correct position, remove the plastic sheets and the valve can easily be jostled into the correct grooved position.

As Sid said, there should be four bolts, one in each corner. If you only have three, it may be that is the problem. If you can get access to the valve assemblies, replacement is actually quite easy. There is also a screw on seal around the shaft of some dump valves which can sometimes be tightened to stop such a leak.
Of course, everyone so far has assumed that you are talking about the tank dump valve that is used to empty the waste tanks.
