Saw a family pull in with a big toy hauler and unload a good sized quad. Then the guy backs the quad into the toy hauler and pulls out a fishing boat on a trailer and heads for the lake.

I thought that was pretty cool.

What is unusual any more

A couple of years ago, a women showed up in the RV park in her Cl C pulling a rather enlarged enclosed trailer. The next morning she unloaded the trailer, a rather complete pottery shop including the propane fired kiln. I and another RV'er helped with that as it was rather heavy.

As to the 'pot bellied campers', there are increasingly more of us out there every day. Pretty soon, we won't be unusual anymore, but rather we will be the norm.

Simply despicable!

We've got a similar set-up with a Kawasaki Mule and 3 Dirt bikes.

LOL I often wonder why some folks even GO camping since they bring so many decorations from home with them. Palm trees lighting up the campground, the flamingos, and assorted other "yard art" when NATURE trumps them every time (with no batteries required)

Hey! I resemble that remark! LOL I love to put my flamingos out when camping, but sometimes the ground is too hard and I cannot get the legs set. I have DH working on plans to make a base for the flamingos so they can supervise our campsite, regardless of the soil. Next will be a gadget of some kind so that I can hang my lights around the trailer when I cannot put out the awning.

I don't know that I have seen anything unusual when camping. Maybe we are the unusual ones??? This remark is coming from a woman whose DH will be wearing a pumpkin (yes, a real one) on his head for Halloween in an attempt to scare the neighborhood kids.

All, While spending July and August on the coast of Oregon camped by a guy w/a Peterbilt truck conversion.Very well done by himself. Really looked Pro built. It had a small looking ramp door at the rear. He loads a Samurai w/windshield folded down. And tows aluminum boat behind. He told me his bedroom was on top of the Suzuki. Like he said, "it`s only 5 feet wide". very cool

How about 6 families in tents on 2 adjoining campsites complete with kids and a sound system and flood lights. They used the other 4 sites to park all their pick up trucks.

I went camping with my now ex employer who did that. Once. Why he needed a half dozen gazillion candlepower lights so people could find their way around the site was beyond me. Light the fire, can the lights and count stars.

Boy, lots of unusual things folks take camping, but I think a piano takes the cake!

I was not aware that there was a prize of cake involved or I would have thunk up something weird earlier. What kind of cake did the pianer feller get?

In line with the pink flamingos, lots of knick-knacks of all kinds. A relative of ours has all kinds of little dustcatchers she takes with them, and doesn't consider her camp set up until they're all placed on shelves inside their trailer.

Karen - I checked all of our genealogical records and could not find a reference to you anywhere. However you must be related to my wife to be able to describe in such detail how she sets up the motor home. Plus she has so many plants that we decorated her brothers patio for a wedding reception with them.
