Honestly, not trying to start anything here but....It's 2005 6.0 - that might be the problem.

Many, many have had good service from theirs, my brother did not.

A lot of Ford dealers are swamped in the diesel repair dept. When I lost an injector in Wasilla Alaska, the Wasilla dealer said the line was about 3 weeks long. Anchorage was worse, two to three MONTHS! Fortunately, the Diesel Doctor in Wasilla, got me in and out in 1 day with a factory trained mechanic, and 1 week later replaced the remaining injectors, also in 1 day. I was SOOOOO thankful.

My sincere sympathies for the wait, but at least you are sorta local.

Try this link. Ford-Trucks
This place is to Ford Trucks what RV.net is to camper owners.

The info on the unison ring sticking or rusting in the VGT turbo is spot on. When fuel went through the roof and I was between jobs I let my 6.0 sit for a few weeks. Next trip I stumbles, studder, black smoke and no power. Turbo was replaced under warranty by the dealer but they tore down the old one just to be sure. Definitley stuck. Also got the EGR cleaned. There is a step by step proceedure for both the Turbo and the EGR on Diesel Stop. Great site. All is better now and getting 15-16 mpg, pulls like a locomotive. No chip just cetane.

just a little heads up on the 6.0 mainly from 2003 to 2005

make sure you have all the "TSB"s Technical service bulletins done for the VIN on your truck
if you plan on keeping it.

an important one is the head bolt replacement and EGR cooler update...depends on your year of truck..

my brother went down the lonely road on his 6.0. don't wait till the truck starts running bad to make sure... i always ask..some dealers do not want to volunteer any info.

good luck...
