I am pretty proud of the work we did this weekend. We recently had a blowout that took out a metal skirting on the lower part of the trailer. My local dealership wanted close to 500.00 to fix it. So I bought the replacement panel and completed the repairs myself. It was actually not complicated at all and I got to buy a new tool. Including the new tool it was under a 100.00 and a Saturday afternoon. I just wanted to say to anyone that is at all mechanical. YOU CAN FIX IT.

Good Job...I truly believe that 90% of the repairs needed on RV's can be done by the consumer. Most dealerships have inexperienced guys working on your RV that know less than you do. They certainly will not do as good of a job as you would yourself. Plus they will charge you an arm and a leg to do it. I do almost all of my own repairs/maintenance when needed.
Happy travels.

I like the "new tools" part (I often negotiate that with the DW) and you saved all the headache of getting it to the dealer and waiting for the finish!

Gotta hire you folks when I have a problem, and I'll make sure you get compensated nicely and still be able to put the dealers out of my business.
