I too have a '06 Seneca 35GS. When we took posession of our new Seneca the Jayco rep. stated that the 'transit bars' were to be installed during travel only as a additional safety against the slide slightly moving outbound. We use them most of the time when traveling long distances, but when going only a few miles we do not install. Have never noticed the slide move when they were not installed. They are just a added insurance that the slide does not move when traveling. We have attached a 2" x 24" bright red ribbon to the transit bar to identify that it is installed.

Our 35GS came with them, and the dealer said "Don't use them. It's a pain, not needed and you will be sorry if you ever forget to remove them and open a slide".

We have driven over 30,000 miles so far and have never had a slide budge, leak or what ever.

I do not carry them anymore. It's just dead weight.

Ditto what Beave said exactly.

I used mine on a trip when my precious little granddaughter was strapped to a seat on the slide. Otherwise I haven't.

The guy told me during checkout that if I ever ran the slide out and forgot to take them out, it would put a hole right in the side of the coach.

I have them and I have never used them, nor have I had a water leak or any movement of the slide out.
