Hi oldetrucker63,
Eternabond stretches 700% before it fails and can stand very high and very low temperatures.

Welcome to the forum Tony. This forum has the nicest people you have ever met. The knowledge available here is second to none.
I am a retired carpenter, your project would be something that I would have done at a younger age, well I would do now if I had good sight. As we used to say around here, NO HILL FOR A CLIMBER. Go for it. Good luck. Remember, the nightmare will come to an end. Then thats when you really feel so good. I used to do remodel work. To take a wreck and make a gem. Yep, it dosen't get much better than that.
