I had the same experience at Cedar Key, FL. Not everyone agrees it is a good idea though.

Bringing your dog into a restaurant is not cute!! Would you do that in BC?? Even in Mexico there are laws that prohibit animals from being in a restaurant or supermarket. You are fortunate that the management were kind and did not want to upset a customer.

I have no problem taking my dog to a restaurant, but we always sit outside on a patio where she lies quietly at my feet or under the table. In Bar Harbor, Maine we sat on the patio and she layed on the sidewalk beside us. Not everyone likes dogs and shouldn't be subjected to them inside restaurants or bars just like smoking. Whoa!!! Don't let me get started with that.

I love it--great pic!!

My dog is cleaner and better behaved than some people I see in bars and restaurants.

Yep, we love that about Mexico. We bring our dog wherever we see other dogs. If there is a dog in the restaurant, we bring ours in! And, yes, it sure is cute!

We don't bring our cats into restraunts, and unless dogs are well behaved, (which most are not) I don't like them in either. OTOH, one thing I notice and like about Mexico is that, when backing out of a parking spot in a parking lot, Mexicans DON"T walk behind you like people do in the US. This leads me to the conclusion that Mexicans are smarter than Gringos. Plus the liers (oops, mis-spelled lawyers)haven't told them they have a right to be stupid.

I love dogs but they do not belong in restaurants nor food stores!!! Even though we pet owners like to think they are humans they are ANIMALS. There is a reason why public health laws in civilized countries ( including Mexico) do not allow them in places that sell or serve food.
