My Atwood water heater I turn on the switch goes red then no spark I can light the furnace by using a match and it works fine but using the switch and no spark any ideas thanks. Doesn't create spark but gas no problem which lights and runs no problem any ideas pls

When you look at the wiring the gas valve has high and low limit switches, mine has brown wires to and from. (Look like disks). If the gas valve opens and lights all is working good there. Where the goose neck goes into the burner, you will see a red boot right above, it is the igniter (mine looks like a spark plug boot). It sounds like it is bad. If you have your owners manual, you can get the model # and check with your local RV shop or check online to buy a replacement. Your manual should have a wiring diagram that can help you.

I had the same problem last w/end...
I replaced the circuit board..easy fix

Hi Im looking for a spark probe part number 93868 the above issue I had some months back with my water heated not lighting with the spark and am on the hunt for a used one which someone has sat in there draw thanks

Clean the connector and contacts involving the control board. Be sure the spring contacts are sprung to where they make solid contact. It's somewhere between a sure cure and a long shot.

Hi I cleaned all the contacts and by magic it ignited once now it doesn't ignite using the switch but I can manually light. Very weird any suggestions thxs

At either price, it's about the cheapest board I've heard of!

Please let us know if the change solves the problem.

A friend has this issue with his and cleaning the contacts helped occasionally but the problem still seems to be there.
