Since my Nag 1 transmission did not have plug in the T/C on my 2006 chassis on the 2007 Roadtrek. I just dropped the pan and added fluid, which I have done a number of times.
I have had a leak since doing, small drip.
I have been told that the service fill of the pan is 5.3 qts. When I first did the removal of pan and put in the filter, there seem to be less than 3-4 qts in the pan after putting it in a container.
What is the real service fill of the transmission for the pan only.
Maybe I am over filled and it is leaking from that operation.
Respectfully,
Robert

That said.... I doubt the MB shop would have had parts in stock either. Transmission parts are so numerous, they almost always need to be ordered in, especially less common vehicles (which I would consider the Sprinter to be, compared to the domestic brands).
And neither is Mercedes! The selling/servicing dealer for Sprinter is Freightlinner! I take it that you bought it to a Dodge dealer for service?

I forgot to finish the story, so for the benefit of those that followed the saga of the wayward transmission... There is not much to say. As expected when a new transmission and torque converter were in stalled, the remainder of the trip was uneventful as expected. Well, a warning light did come on exactly where the third transmission failure happened 30 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida. I said, "No way this is happening. At this rate, we will never leave Florida." Somehow the traction control turned off. Maybe my wife, myself or the dog bumped the switch on the dash. I pushed the switch to reset the system and the light never came on again. Must have been a long drive. I changed the oil before we left and just a few miles south of home the ASSYST told me it was time to change the oil again. The engine ran well and averaged close to 16 mpg with the best a bit over 17 mpg. During the trip, we used GasBuddy on my smartphone to shop for Diesel. Knowing ahead of time what the prices are in the area and what to expect up ahead helps. Doing the math, I estimate I saved enough to fill the tank about 1 1/2 times. And that is of course not going out of my way to save the extra penny. It is amazing how prices can vary as much as 25 cents in just a couple of blocks off the exit on the highway, if you just know.
