I agree we have them at home but not my favorite for a RV. Heavy, energy pig, and emits much heat.

I replaced the 42 inch plasma in my stick house with a 52 inch LED. Put the plasma in the bedroom and LED in den. LED has a better picture than the the plasma. Colors are better, esp. in HD.

My good friend own a high end electronic store. The big joke there is when people come in and run over to the brightest tv. It's like a moth drawn to a flood light. When all tvs are shipped they are set to torch mode. Usually these retail stores are bright with fluorescent over head lights and the led and LCD are brighter. Real world same dollar for dollar tv the plasma will have a better picture quality. If you were to get a Panasonic GT30 for 1300.00 you would need to spend over 3000.00 to get the same picture quality. We're LCD and led shines are in bright rooms were light can not be controlled.

I guess I am not that savvy as I don't understand what you are saying here. Are you saying LED is not as good?

After a month of use I can report that I really like this TV. Can't say the manual is very good as it took me a while to find how to full screen/overfill the non HD signals... there's a button on the remote. Unfortunately I have to hit it often as it wants to go back to a factory default that I have not figured out how to change.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

Hi All.
We agreea, that the Plasma TV's have a much better over-all quality of pictures and colors. But as said, they do like to use a lot more power and do generate more heat, than LED TV's do. We have Plasma TV's in our house, but no way would we put Plasma TV's in our Motorhome. We put two LED TV's in our Motorhome. Mostly for a couple of reasons. #1. Led TV's use a lot less power and very liitle heat out-put. Great for Boondocking. As the LED TV's are very easy on your Batterty Bank. #2. Plasama TV's don't like to be shaken up and rattled going down the Hiways and Roads of this Beautiful Country. #3. Plasama TV's weight a lot more than LED TV's do. They are much harder to mount on RV Walls. A litle bit of thought needs to apply to lED TV's also. As we all know that RV Walls are pretty Flimsy. #4. Cost is an issues also, usually Plasama TV's do cost more than the same size LED's, unless you get real lucky and find some super sales. We have put both of our LED TV's next to our Plasama TV's to compair them. To us, anyways, the Plasama TV's do look a lot better and have a better picture and better colors also, espically in HD. Don't get us wrong, we love our LED TV's in our Motorhome. And both of our LED TV's, two different brands, have great Pictures and Colors also. We did do a bit of searching when we bought our two LED TV's, as I went to several stories with our Kill-A-Watt Meter, and checked on how many watts and amps each drew. I did this, as I wanted good LED TV's, and LED TV's that used the least amount of power. As we mostly do all Boondocking. Becasue power usage was important to us, and our Boondocking needs, we replaced the front 20 inch CRT TV with an LG 26 Inch LED TV, as I also didn't want to do a Major Cabinet Remodel also. The Bedroom 19 inch CRT TV was replaced with a 22 inch LED Vizio TV. We are pretty well set for Boondocking, with low usage LED TV's and all LED Lights through out the Motorhome, The way that our Motorhome is set up, even doing a Major Cabinet Remodle, which I am capabile of doing, a larger TV in the Front Over-Head Cabinets, just wouldn't work out very well. The problem with our Bedroom TV, was that it is in a corner, so do to space , we were also liminted to size also. But we are very happy with what we replaced our old OEM CRT TV's with. It worked out great for us. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

I am having a hard time understanding how you were able to get up into the back of the cabinet with the TV in place to put the plumbers tape in place.
Could you explain that picture to me please?
I am going to start on my TV replace tonight on our 03 Dynasty. It has the 24" tube style television and I am going to try to get a 32" in the cabinet. I think the measurements are going to be close but once I get the old one out tonight I can get the accurate measurements and go looking for a TV.
I am also thinking of cutting my cabinet off on the back to bring it closer to the windshield as I won't need that much room with a flatscreen TV.
Also, in the second picture is the aluminum angle underneathe the television? Did you screw the angle to the wood cabinet/frame and then put the TV in place and screw the TV to the aluminum angle?
Thanks,
Mike.

Zmotorsports; When I replaced my 26" flat screen with a 37" lcd I had a sheet metal shop fabricate a heavy gauge sheet metal pan similar to a cookie sheet pan only with 1 1/2" sides. Drilled holes to match up with the factory mounting on the back of the tv. These mounting holes are not in just plastic but through into the aluminum tv frame and also reinforce the pan with some fender washers. This pan was made to fit perfectly between the two side cabinets. I had excess to the back side so I could mount the pan with several screws through the side of the pan into the cabinets. Then mounted the tv. If you have any questions PM me.
