Mine was mounted right at the seam of the front overhang. Kind of hard to explain, (found a picture)....

This is the first time I have tried to post a picture so hope it comes out ok. The antenna is mounted just behind the drivers side door on top of the coach.
Guess I don't know how to post an image. PM me and I will send the picture to you.

Mine is mounted on the driver side of cab over. Since everything is fiberglass I installed a non-ground plane antenna. Got it from CW. Not great for long range use. But works well for getting traffic info.

I thought about mounting it there but I was afraid it would keep hitting the side of the rig. Any problems with that?

I have no experience with CB's, so pardon the ignorance. Who do you talk to on them?

I mostly use my CB for listening to truckers about traffic conditions however, if I am traveling with another RVer, its really nice to be able to stay in communication with each other.

Lot's of people have and use CB radios, Only if these new so called Truckers was more like they use to be, Back in the day you would hardly ever hear a bad word, Now day's turn it off when you approach a truck stop, What you hear on a CB is 90% of the reason I retired, If everyone was like they was back say before 1992 I would still be Trucking, It has gone down hill really bad. On the Interstate a CB is a must have, A great safty tool, You just have to look over all of the Children these day's.

The best way to make sure your SWR is right, Use a 4 FT Frances Antenna with 18 FT of the gray G58 coax With this the SWR's will be a 1 to 1 to a 1.5 mach with No Adjustments at all. The Frances Antenna is the Orange/Red White or black sold at all Pilot Truck stops
They come in 4 and 5 foot Get the 4 footer with 18 feet of coax and your set.

For the one's that might not know, The SWR reading needs to be right for a CB to work right, If not right the radio waves will run up and down the Antenna and not up and out the top tip into the air waves, This means you can not get out or receive like a radio should. The SWR is a must and has to be a 1.5 or lower.......1 to 1 match being the best.
