Thanks everyone. I appreciate your responses. You have always kept me on track. PUCampin, yes, I have had that conversation with my mechanic, as per your advise. He is a great guy, and we have used him for MANY years...honest, educated, above board, and reasonable. He knows what we need, and he will make sure that we get it. I am very excited but I am trying to think with my head, and making sure everything is done as right as possible. Things go wrong as a matter of life. I am hoping to make sure that the things that go wrong are not things I could have avoided.

Been running a Prodigy by Tekonsha now for 5-6 years...with 2 different TT's.

It's worked great with both, and I'd highly recommend them.

General consensus downunder is there is the Prodigy P2 & P3 followed by the Primus IQ and then the rest follow well behind.
My P2 has held us in good stead for the last 8 years and still going (& stopping) strong.
Cheers, Ozjohn.

Side question, does the Ford integrated brake controler that comes with the truck do as good a job as the Prodegy? Its a late model.

Where is the best mounting location for the Controller? I'd seen pictures of it placed on the lower right side of the steering column. But with it placed there is it easy to use in a manual breaking situation ? Just wanting to understand if that is the best location for quick access and placement.

Since I have a newly purchased TT and a P2, but won't be using it till April, should I take practice runs and use the manual feature so I can understand how that feature works?

Just trying to imagine instinct kicking in for an emergency type breaking situation and reacting properly. My thoughts would be to ensure the P2 be properly set up so a manual use would not be required.

What more would the manual action have effect on, locking up the tires being the extreme route and somewhere just before that being the other... Is there that much play in the settings (after you already set the controller?). Sorry for what might seem an obvious answer, but I've never used a break controller or towed this much weight. Respectfully. Joe
