We went to NS in late May and the first half of June in 2010. We only ran into one CG that wasn't open but the owner let us stay there for free. No hookups since the water hadn't been checked yet. Many of the attractions were closed until July so we missed some of the things we would have liked to see, but it was still a great trip.

Most private Campgrounds open around may 21st in newfoundland. the national parks such as Gros morne, one is open all year, lomond opens may 21st the rest should be open by June 11.In Gros morne national park they have no services but a few have a dump station,A few have WiFi and all the national parks are pricey $26.50 a night (2011) + park pass @9.50 a day(2011) per person you can buy early bird passes for yearly and weekly At a greatly reduced rate.
We are expecting another banner year for icebergs probaly well into early august. The best way to check on ice bergs is www. icebergfinder.com as we track them and it takes two years after breaking off before we see then in Newfoundland
