in Californi, a hybrid at a RV show is like seeing Bigfoot.
in a region that is perfect for hybrids, they continue to be a rarity.
i have been camping in mine for 5 years and i have seen less than a total of 10 hybrids in the campgrounds i stayed in.
and dealers out here, continue to badmouth them for things that are no longer common in hybrids. part of it is that they'll carry popups for those who can't afford anything bigger.
they prefer to jump up to a regular TT, from there. they see hybrids as an unnecessary step.

I was planning on going to the RV show this weekend here, not to look for a unit since we just got a new one, we were going to go to collect resort info...

The Boston show will have lightweights and hybrids. The local Maine shows tend to focus on park models and big rigs, probably due to the popularity among the local beach front campgrounds.

The Toronto RV Show in Mississauga (Toronto) last month had many hybrids and popups too.
As well as many 5ers and A's and C's.
As usual, Can-Am RV was there again with a VW Passat pulling a 24ft Airstream...

The show in Edmonton starts Thursday. Some years are leaner than others, but there is always a decent selection from tent trailers, hybrids, tt and 5th wheel trailers. There are also a handful of 500k class A rigs, as lots of albertans snowbird in the south and prefer them. I also look at middle of the road stuff, but do enjoy seeing how the industry matures each year and technology creeps into our trailers. I honestly don't mind the tv/dvd/stereo equipment in modern campers. Also the HVAC and electrical systems are pretty amazing compared to 20 years ago.

The Houston RV Show starts today and, judging by past experience, I don't expect to see a whole lot of HTTs .... maybe a handful. This is Texas after all and here "bigger is better" .... from the RVs to the trucks that pull them. So there will be lots of travel trailers, 5th wheels and motor homes.
I will still go because I love to see all the different floorplans and decor and to dream a little.

The Boston Show this past weekend had less hybrids than usual but the few that were there were attracting plenty of attention. Lots of sales of all categories except pop-ups. Only one pup was on display and it wasn't well presented. It made me kind of sad.
On a side note, I bought a two man tent for my grandson. While I was standing waiting to pay I overheard a girl of about 8 or 9 saying, "Really Mom what do tents have to do with a camping and RV show?".

Went to the MARVAC show in Novi yesterday and I stopped counting at 20 units, there were plenty. Also a lot of full size in-expensive trailers (30 ft) at show prices of 14,000.00. Looks like they are targeting the entry level with big, but lower quality.
Average ROO was about 14-15K with slide for a show price.

We usually have a very small show here in Jackson and a larger one in Memphis. The Jackson show is put on by the local "this is the price" dealer and guess it's the economy, but they didn't have one last year and haven't heard of one for this year. Last trip to the Mphs show and we said we wouldn't bother again. Is there one in Nashville?? Would like to take in a good show, but don't want to drive a zillion miles. Ideas?
