The object is not to get the TV back to unloaded height, but to get it back to level. Measure fender well to ground on all wheels, adjust WD bars to obtain the same delta between front and rear. Adding air bags will actually throw everything off. And just for the record, if you need to add air bags to haul a 5er, you most likely have more 5er than your TV can handle.
Again, my opinion and only my opinion.
On the Ford side of the equation, you aren't supposed to have the same amount of delta front and rear. Your front height is supposed to be half way between your unloaded height and your loaded height.
Setting it up that way (per Ford's owners manual) puts significant drop on the rear of the truck. In my case, 1.5" or so. I didn't care for the ride, nor the "nose up" attitude, so I added bags.
FWIW, a friend of mine added bags to his 11' F350 dually due to his "riding soft" in the back. To put a blanket statement out that anyone that adds bags to a TV doesn't have enough TV in the first place is simply inaccurate. Not saying that some people don't add bags to do just that, just saying not everyone does.
To the original poster, glad you got it all worked out. The bags made a huge difference in the quality of ride on my setup, one of the best mods I have done to date...

x2.
It's a matter of opinion I suppose. I have had air bags on my previous F150. We put quite a bit of stuff in the truck since the TT had small cargo openings and even though the TW was only 500lbs or so I had 4-500lbs in the truck. With 1000lb bars it pulled like crud. Went to air bags to compensate for the trucks added cargo, and got 4-600lb Eaz-lift bars for the TT's tongue weight. It towed like a dream. I know the bars are supposed to handle the load in the truck as well as the TW, but they don't always work that way on 1/2 tons. It's a lot easier to load a 3/4 ton with stuff, hitch up your TT and use your WD bars to level out. But with 1/2 tons the suspension is too soft to respond to all that. Even though the have the ratings they don't respond as well as 3/4-1 tons. Just wondering what the difference is between someone going with helper springs or Timbrens compared to air bags?

If the amount of air changes the rear ride height, it will indeed change the weight distribution. If everything else with the hitch setup stays the same, and you raise rear ride height, the amount of weight being distributed to the front axle and the trailer axles will decrease.
I do agree that 5-10# will not change the weight distribution. Just wanted to make that clarification.
