Yo, everyone....don't get your panties in a wad....doggone, can't even have a little fun on these forums anymore without a bunch of people going "whiney" on you....If we can't kid around a little on these forums, not much sense in hanging out on them....no one called anyone any names, at least I didn't and most in here who have frequented these threads for as many years as some of us have, KNOW if you put a "smiley face" at the end of their post, it usually denotes ....hello....humor, maybe even a bit of sarcasm...but if you can't kid around and act up with people we "supposedly" have a lot in common with, ie, tow vehicles, campers, camping etc....then it just isn't any fun anymore..

I'm an Engineer with a TON of back ground in physics and a lot of other, to keep it simple, "maths", and know quite a bit about the topic also, but I don't go all "TEACHER" in here very often....again, when the OP titled his post EGO BOOST, though it was an accident, you knew there was going to be some fun with it.

Most in here, including myself know that the ECO Boost is more than capable in handling an 8500# trailer Some of you need to lighten up a little bit and realize that on occasion, some of us like to have a little fun on these forums....I've been the "brunt" of some of these post more times than I can count..it is what it is .....

so at this point, I do know all about HP & TQ, (really very simple formulas compared to some I've had to apply on the job), but I'll apologize to anyone that may have been offended by anything I may have posted that offended you....

.............oh, and lighten up a little.....part of being on this forum is to have a little fun with people that if we ever camped beside each other somewhere someday, would get along just fine

Agreed, as an ecoboost HD owner I agree that weight for weight there is no way a EB is going to out pull a 1 or 3/4 ton DMAX, CTD, OR PSD. Just not going to happen. If you have a 15k pound raptor with a 2300lb hitch weight an EB would be an incredibly stupid choice. But it WILL out pull and out haul any 1/2 ton truck. And for those of us who are not full timers, who have small fivers and TT's, and who only pull a few times a year, the EcoBoost is a fantastic option. I mean really, my new lariat 4x4 EB F150 weighs 2000lbs less than my 2000 F350 7.3L crew cab long bed dually. It has 2 fewer tires, and is way, way, WAY cheaper on the consumables. Seems like the perfect truck for my needs.

Why would he? It's turned into the usual "who's got the longest johnson" debate. Honestly.....some of you guys have been couped up on this forum too long this winter, why not log off, hook your trailer up whatever you drive, go to a campground, make a fire, have a beer and remember what this place is actually about.

Some days I have to look to the top of the screen to remind myself I'm at RV.new and NOT one of the truck forums .

Well said. This thread has been pretty entertaining though.

4X4 you are correct that torque alone can't create horsepower. The formula for horsepower is HP=(torque*RPM)/5252.

So at any given RPM the engine that produces more torque will generate more HP, and it is HP that gets you up the hill.

I am having trouble trying to understand what your point is. Are you agreeing or disagreeing that the higher horsepower engine should get to the top of the hill first?

What's a longest Johnson? I work six days a week and this forum is one of the few I pay attention to, sorry if you have a problem with it.

This is the tow vehicle forum, so it very well may seem more like a truck forum because that is what quiet a few of us in here tow with..a truck.

NC if you need that one explained to you then I agree, 6 days a week is too much working, you need some time off to have some fun.

But honestly, the OP asked about the suitablility of a new F150 for towing a 5er, an amongst some good information we have hijack arguments with guys actually getting to the point of challenging each other to race up a hill.........I mean come on. What's next, race for pinks??? It's like being in highschool again.

I drive a Cummins 2500 Ram.....and I too am a little sick of the Eco-Boost Kool-Aid being poured and drank all over the forums.....but I don't feel threatened by it. It appears that some do however.

You were arguing (with some else) way back when that 650ft lbs of torque had nothing to do with getting to the top of the hill first. I'm arguing with that statement, assuming I understood it correctly cause it makes no sense.

Well, I've been married almost 42 years, have 3 kids and 4 grandkids...didn't know if there was a sexual connotation there or not...but your right...I am working too much..

again, if you had re-read some of the post...they were in fun...some need to know when one is being serious and when one is kidding around....

I'm not sick of the Eco Boost, I don't even know that much about it....and I can't think of any thing I feel threatened by, unless it's trying to figure out how I can retire and still afford to do so...they can't send me back to Viet Nam, at almost 62, don't believe they'd want me...definitely don't feel threatened by any vehicle...but I'll stop trying to have a little fun on this forum if some are going to take everything that is posted to heart.

a race for pink slips...hummmm, never done it and don't own anything that could take anyones pink slip that I'm aware of...that's a silly statement, but don't know if your being serious or making a joke....so I'll just bow out of this thread and hope I've not offended any to the point that they're still trying to "compare longest johnsons", (never heard it referred to that, but then again, maybe I STILL have no clue what your talking about_)
