Am I the only one who can't get rid of threads that I've subscribed to? Is there a tech problem? Or am I doing something wrong?

I have deleted some of mine in the last few days, so I don't know.

Go to myforums, then click on the box beside the ones you want to delete, then go to the bottom and tell it to delete? If it doesn't work, I'm not sure what the problem is.

There are no tech problems that I know of - I am not having trouble deleting subscriptions.

You need to tell us how you are trying to delete (Merrykalia described how) and what happens when you click on the delete button. (Make sure you are clicking on the correct delete button; there is one for each subscription section.

If you want to delete them, then follow the instructions given from Merykalia.

If you want to stop the email notifications there is an on/off in the same location and you can turn off the email notifications but keep the thread for future use.

Been following the instructions - same ones I've been following for 8 years - but nothing happens. Tried just checking one - still doesn't work. Tried checking them all - nothing. Tried letting it sit for long periods - nothing.

One unusual thing - all of the threads have emails ON. I never turn that on, just subscribe w/out emails.

Mod - Help?

If the email option looks like the one in this picture

with a blue On, the the email option is off. The On is a link to turn on the email option.

How many subscriptions do you have on the page?

I suggest that you clear cookies and temporary Internet files. If that doesn't clear up you problem, the next step would be to see what happens using another computer.

Do remember that it's a two step process once you're in "My Forums"-

After checking the "delete" box(es) next to the thread(s) you're UNsubscribing to, you must click on "delete" again at the bottom of the page.

Mod - ran the Clean Disk process & cleared cookies & temp files, but still not working. I now have 10 subscribed threads. What happens is that after I click on Delete, nothing happens. The screen doesn't change and it appears as if it's processing the request, but I've let it sit for many minutes & it just stays there. But when I click on another function or website, it works properly.

To those telling me how to delete: I know that you mean well, but after 8+ years of being on this forum, I really do know how it works. Haven't quite reached senility yet.

How old is your computer, and systems are you running?

The reason I ask is that up until October of 2010, I was still using my 1999 Gateway computer using Windows98se. It could not use anything newer than IE6.

Neither systems are backed by Microsoft any more. I had similar problems from time to time back then. I replaced computer with a Assus computer, Intel Core-i7, and never had problems since. Your problems are caused by your systems used.

If you have another computer, or use one at the library, you will most likely find the site working fine.

Computer is a Compaq Presario CQ56, running Windows 7. Just bought it last Fall. I'm out in the boonies of small town Georgia, so I doubt if the library has computers or would let me use it, but I'll check it out. Or maybe one of my fellow campers will let me borrow theirs.

Thanks.
