The only reason I'd ever use a phone jack is for DSL.
I did away with my land line in 2001 and haven't had one since.

Cobra PhoneLynx

We added one to our RV. It comes with a wall wart...but you can get a jack from Radio Shack...and just wire it into your RV's 12v system. Works like a champ.

Two different cellphones can link up at once.

Also good for your house, if there's spotting cell coverage. You can leave the phone in a location with good signal...and it will connect you to your homes wired/cordless handsets anywhere in the house.

This 06 Montana did have a phone jack and we removed it and installed a jack for our WIFI antenna. We have not had a actual land line phone for many years.

If you need one install one.

I can't believe your campground still uses phones! That's as antiquated as cable

If they start obsoleting things people don't use, next thing you know, manufacturers won't be providing kitchens, either.

I've never seen one.

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

SIGH! Of course, most of you are correct when you state that land lines are a dying item, at least for personal use. I still like to use the good old telephone if for no other reason than cost effectiveness. Being in Canada we pay the highest cell phone rates in the modern world. Like many others we live on a budget and have to be conscious of our monthly expenses.

That being said, I picked up some parts and pieces that should allow me to install a telephone jack inside and outside our RV.

Thanks to all for taking the time to read my post and reply. Cheers!

I hear you. While visiting your wonderful Rockies last summer I didn't get our AT&T bill till we got back home. OMG I thought the new trucks were expensive.
We have never used our RJ12's even before c phone came out.
Funny the grandson asked me what "dial-up" was one time! I didn't mention the good ole "party line" days LOL

I'm surprised that they install phone jacks in any new trailer. I never used a land line in a trailer. We are seriously thinking of eliminating our land line when we get home this year.

Had two TT that had phone jacks and one I never used and the other one I used one time at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. I don't know if they still offer that or not. My last two units did not have them. I use Magic Jack when the campground signal is good otherwise use AT&T pay as you go phone.
