One vendor had a 1/2 ton towable sign on nearly every TT and at least one 5'ver. Up to an included a TT that had a dry weight of 8,200 pounds. Technically, the 8282# was within the 9300# that Ford says my F150 can tow. However, a tongue weight (15%) alone would use up nearly all of my cargo weight capacity. And this is before I substract for my weight and that of my DW, plus the weight of the hitch itself and the fiberglass bed cover that I installed after purchase of the truck. That is an example of the type of dealer that would sell to the unsuspecting buyer, a TT that would overwhelm the TV the buyer had. And not think twice about it. They are loaded with 1/2 ton PUs in Montana and Wyoming. I looked at a couple of dealerships in Cody, WY and Billings, MT. These 1/2 tons are mostly crew cabs. I didn't even know they built a 1/2 ton crew cab. Why do you think so many people come onto to this forum asking whether to buy a gas or diesel 3/4 ton after they buy too much trailer?
