RE: Help! No power from house battery!

You have the battery switch off or the fuse is blown from the battery to the panel/converter. Other things could be a bad connection on the battery or ground.

RE: coach battery switch

Check the fuses on the bottom of the solenoid. Check for 12 volts on the terminals for turning on and off. While by the solenoid have someone push the button for turning the battery on/off and listen for the clunk of the solenoid energizing and de-energizing. Remember the solenoid only needs a quick 12 volts to latch or unlatch the solenoid. If it seems to be working but still not turning the battery off, it could be arced contacts in the solenoid. Most can be taken apart and cleaned up.

RE: Kwikie Step Repair

1. You can get the Airlift 1000s from J.C. Whitney, under $100.
Search the forum for "air bags". Lots of posts on the easy way to change them out yourself. Soaking in hot water makes it easy.
2. Steps, post a picture of the broken part, you may be able to get it welded.

RE: 30 amp and 50 amp electric question

All 50a pedistals that I've seen also have a 30a plug-in. You should be fine.
This is not always true. I have been to several RV Parks that only had a 50 amp connector. Had to use a dogbone to plug in my 30 amp RV.

RE: De-winterizing

Or you could be like the select few who never use their bathroom or kitchen. They never have to dewinterize or winterize.
Wait i don't winterize or dewinterize, but we use the bathroom and kitchen all the time. Being down here it don't freeze very often.

Just heard on the news that the brand new Buc-ee's in New Braunfels is having a price war with neighboring WalMart and Target.
Gas $3.10

RE: another dog treat causing illness

Individual dogs can be allergic to select foods just like humans. I am not impressed by the numbers. Statistically the numbers are insignificant given the millions of dogs in this country. I want someone to come up with a definitive cause and effect relationship backed up with scientific analysis.
Also, people tend to overfeed their dogs treats. They are literally killing them with kindness. I see seriously overweight dogs in campgrounds all the time. I doubt very much that they became that over weight from eating dry dog food only.
People also feed their dogs table scraps. That further clouds the cause and effect issue.
We have fed our dogs Waggin Train jerky treats for years. Somewhere along the way they switched to being made in China. But nothing happened to our dogs with the change.
I am as mad as anyone that everything is made in China these days, but this looks like a case of China bashing. If you think I am going to stop buying Waggin Train Jerky Treats at Sam's Club based on this, you are barking up the wrong the treat.
X2
My girls get a max of three Waggin Train chicken jerky treats a day. The GS gets bigger ones and the little one gets smaller ones.

RE: How do you test an Onan genset's volt and amp output

Go here and look up the generator.
Being a 3.0 may mean it is a 3000 watt or 25 amp generator, this is just my guess check the Onan site above to be sure.

RE: Good Hitch hardware source?

NYCAMPDUDE asked: Why no round tube hitch???
Ask the GM guys. Round tube hitches will not hold up to the stresses caused by a heavy tongue weight and a WDH. They will twist.

RE: Looking for Campground Close to Erie, PA

No, it is just a beach along the shores. There should still be a placard there telling the story. Basicly him and a couple friends decided to swim to Canada, the parents and others followed them in boats. If i remember correcty only Patrick swam the whole distance and landed on beach 10 (each beach has a number).
My mind is not what it used to be, this happened over 40 years ago, he is now a doctor.

RE: Looking for Campground Close to Erie, PA

There are several right in Erie. One on Penninsula Drive at the top of the hill (by Waldimer Park) and another at the bottom of the hill as you go on the peninsula. Of course i could be wrong now, haven't been back home in that area for 30+ years.
There was another one around 90 and Peach St.

RE: Breaker Trips on Shore Power and not on Generator

Have the dealership tighten all connections in the circuit breaker panel and where the power cable comes into the RV.

Local Auto Parts stores or trailer supply store. Don't get a round tube hitch.

RE: newbe leveler fluid question

Do not add fluid to the jacks when they are down. Only fill the resivour when the jacks are stored.
Look and see if you can see where the fluid is leaking from, could be just a loose hose connection. If so, just snug it up a little, Don't do a "HULK" tightining.

RE: Primary Liability Insurance - Which States Require It?

Mine fell under the car policy. Since all my vehicles are covered by the same insurance company i don't worry about it. I just let them decide which one it comes out of.

RE: Sorry state of fuel in North America

What concerns me more is we are paying around $3.50 per gal and the price of crude just fell below $100 per barrel. The last time oil was below $100 per barrel we were paying around $1.50 per gallon.

RE: Tire age

Considering there are laws in place for tires used in commercial service, 7 years from date of manufacture is considered the life span of a tire.
You mean there is a law that says i cannot use my 10 year old tires? I would like to see that law.
Yes, i see you put commercial service, there are a lot of truckers on this forum that probably never heard of this, is this law for all states or just your state?
