Help ! ! No power at 7-way ! !

A friend of mine has a 2011 GMC Sierra 1500. I'm installing his brake controller today and would like to finish up with my original problem: no power at the 7-way. I've hooked up the 'eye-let pigtail' to the stud at the main fuse block and have installed the appropriate fuse. I'm still missing something!? That is all I had to do with my '08 Avalanche. Any help would be appreciated, as he is bringing his camper and truck to my shop today ! ! ! Thank-you, Mark.

RE: Power awning question ! ! !

Thanks to all of you for the input. I have not (and will not) rely on the 'auto dump' feature. I was camping a couple of weeks ago and a 5er with the same awning was filling up with rain .... I ran over and knocked on the door and told him about his 'swimming pool' that was forming- must have had the tensioner knobs too tight ... I think I saved him some headaches. Anyway, I will continue to secure the awning as discussed above. Tomorrow morning I will head to the camp store and buy that awning strap kit ! ! Cheers, Mark.

Power awning question ! ! !

Hello everyone ! ! I've been an active member of the HTT forum in the past years. I recently sold my Rockwood Roo 23SS and took possession of our 2012 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8312SS. I ordered this rig with the power awning option. I'm curious to find out if anyone with a power awning uses straps or tie downs to aid against gusts of wind. I always tied down my manual awning in my Hybrid TT. I am currently camping and we've had some strong winds. I do have the 'dog screw-in stakes' with ratchet straps applied snuggly - not too tight. It seems to be secured. However, I'm still not comfortable with it 100% - like I was with my previous rig's awning. Any pointers/advice/opinions/input would be greatly appreciated! Also considering the long strap that goes the length of the awning with the spring at one end. The campground I'm currently staying at has the strap kit for only $16.49 - I think that is a fair price..... and may give me more peace of mind. I will most certainly have the awning rolled up/retracted is more severe winds. Thank you, in advance, Mark Happy Camping.

RE: Sold our HTT ! !

Thanks Les, haven't been here much in the last couple of years, probably due to facebook, lack of time and family commitments. I will make a valiant effort to keep in touch ! ! Mark.

Sold our HTT ! !

Well we sold our 2006 Rockwood Roo 23SS. I didn't think we'd ever do it, but we totally fell in love with the Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8312SS. We took possession of our new one about a month ago. I'm not saying we have 'upgraded' ..... I just call it a lateral move ;). Having two girls (7 & 9), they totally love the rear bunkhouse ! ! And I totally love the outside kitchen and already-made beds ! ! ! I can honestly say, I miss my Roo, I still miss my Coleman Cheyenne pup too ! ! I guess the next step for us is a Class A Diesel Pusher after retirement ! ! :B Happy Camping Everyone, Mark.

RE: Rockwood Signature 8312SS ! !

HappyTrails2U2, thanks for posting. Do you have a jack-knife sofa ? Yep. Ours is not a jack knife, but I do hope I have the additional outside storage compartment. Won't be the end of the world if it doesn't :)

RE: Rockwood Signature 8312SS ! !

MIlzat, thanks for the photo, I believe that storage compartment is behind the U-dinette and not the sofa. HappyTrails2U2, thanks for posting. Do you have a jack-knife sofa ? Cecilt, I ordered our 8312SS with the standard dinette with the hide-a-bed sofa with air mattress. The extra overhead compartments will be very useful for us. BTW, our camper should arrive mid-July ! !

Rockwood Signature 8312SS ! !

Just wondering if anyone out there has a 2012 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8312SS with the standard dinette? In the Forest River/Rockwood Brochure it shows an 'outside storage' behind the sofa. I've looked everywhere on line to try to prove or disprove this. Can anyone help me with this, please ! ! Thank-you, in advance ! !
