Sounds like a great unit, it would be on my list if we replaced our unit.

RE: Winegard RD-9046

We bought a Winegard unit and love it, even in the rain we had no issue with signal.

RE: water softener

I bought a "On the go" water softner and love it! It was well worth the 157.00 we paid for it, I had a few issues on its first use, call the company and they called back with in 5 mins (after hours) and sent me all the new parts I needed. I would recommend them to anyone.

RE: My Carryout works great

AAFD and faulkner1953 : Just being curious, do you put your Carryout on the ground or raise it up on a platform, table or something?
I was thinking about the tripod base for this unit but at $80 I can come up with a lot of other things. They obviously would not be designed for Carryout but should work.
Mine unit is on the ground but we are geting a tripod for free from CW (latest add). We have had very little signal issue even with heavy rain.

RE: My Carryout works great

Tried my Winegard Carryout today for the first time and it was almost too easy. Waiting on our new MH to arrive but wanted to check out this portable dish so I took it outside along with my receiver and small television and set it up. All I had to do was run the coax from the Carryout to my Dish Network 301 receiver and connect the power, the little dome made some noise as it located the appropriate satellites, downloaded the channel guide and gave as good or better a signal than the home dish does in just a couple of minutes.
I am impressed with how easy this was to get working. Debated between the VuQube and the Carryout in deciding which portable dish to get. Both have had excellent reviews on this forum but I liked the fact that the Carryout would find the satellites on its own without my help. And when changing channels that went from sat 119 to sat 110 it was basically an instant change. It got all the available channels just like my home system does.
This unit came with a metal factory loop in the base to secure it with a cable to keep it from "walking off". I am sure that the VuQube works just as easy but for my use this was the right choice. Got it for $699 from RVW with free shipping and quick arrival.
We love ours as well. It has been raining at the RV parka and only one minor loss is signal at this point!!!

With in 10 mins they had it working well enough for this trip, they also will be sending me all new adapters and hoses for the unit. What service!! It is nice to see good service after the sales! RE: Winegard Carryout GM-1518

Just hooked our up and its working great!!! Our Winegard unit has a plate attached to it so I plan on using some SS wire rope and a couple of master locks (Heavy duty ones) to lock it to the back of the RV.

RE: Winegard vs VueCube

We just bought the Winegard because of the free tripod offer from CW.
KC
Any ideas what you are going to do to keep it from walking off?
Stainless Steel wire rope and 2 master locks. THe Winegard units has a spot to attach locks on its base.

RE: Who has had a Vucube or Winegard stolen

Unless you already have a controller that is in the Rv, it does not make sense to steal the cube. Most concerned owners paint and or engrave their name or drivers license number on the outside plastic cover. Others will affix a ring or handle to the cover (shell) and secure it to the RV with a lock and steel cable. Yet some place a rug over it so it looks like a pile of wood for the fire.
there is an idea. somebody should make a cover shaped like logs to hide them under. IIRC somebody posted that the winegard's latest version has a place to lock to.

Yes, the new Winegard does have a spot for a lock. When we get our set up with the lock I will attend to post a photo of the set up.

RE: Keeping Vucube or Winegard carry out from walking away

Just bought a new Winegard unit, it has a metal bracket on the bottom of it. I plan on getting some Stainless Steel wire rope with 2 large Outdoor master locks to secure it.

RE: Portable Satellite dishs

Go to Camping World and look at the Wyngard portable. You don't need a dome.
Are you talking about standard dish? I was looking at the portable units VuQube or Winegard Carryout Automatic Portable Satellite TV Antenna.

Portable Satellite dishs

Looking to get a portable Satellite dish, I know of 2 portable dome units. I hope to hook up Direct TV (no HD) to my two TV in my Coach. I don't know much about them at this point but know I want to do something. We have one extra standard Direct TV box that we will put in the RV. Any opinions on either units?

RE: Pour Treatment from Workhorse

Let me respond by saying my local Workhorse deal has been great, it was Technical service that gave me the pour treatment. Customer service was very nice and helpful.
Another question, has anyone ever gotten a pre recall notice? My local dealer has said several customers had come it with the issue and some have been paid for some have not. THe ones that have been paid have gone through H**L getting Workhorse to pay.

Pour Treatment from Workhorse

Called Workhorse about a recall on my brakes (for my W22)on Thursday. My coach is in the shop and I wanted an inspection at the least. I was told this document I received was to let me know there would be a recall (never got one of these before, just recall stuff or my RV or car/trucks). T talked with customer relation and they were very nice but the manager of Techinal service was not. I have never been talked down by anyone like he did to me. When I ask to speak with his boss he refused to give the number or trasfer me. I did call back today and left a message with his boss. Watch your self, my local dealer ws beside thier self's by the way workhorse is handeling this.
Your thoughts and opinions?
