RE: MS Streets & Trips

I have used Streets and Trips for many years. I mainly use it for trip planning and sometimes plug the GPS puck into the laptop when traveling.
I have tried a couple of other program in the past and I prefer Streets and Trips. Can't answer the SD card in your GPS question.

RE: TT pad in the backyard???

I would spend the money on a proper electrical supply before the patio and fire ring. My pad on the side of the house is gravel.

Cummins fuel pressure problem

Having an issue with my 01 Dodge Cummins not starting after sitting for a week or two. This does NOT appear to be a lift pump issue as the pump clearly is running and bringing pressure to the fuel filter. My low fuel pressure light is not on.
The problem is more like when you run the injection pump out of fuel and have a bunch of air that needs to be removed. Fuel filter is clean. I cycle the lift pump several times and then have my wife crank the engine while I have the lines cracked at the cylinder head waiting for fuel to squirt out. Once that is done, every thing seems to run just fine.
Let the truck sit a week and the internal fuel pressure seems to go away and no fuel. Seems like the fuel must be leaking back through some part of the system.

RE: Question - Am I being rude?

I won't walk through your campsite and I would appreciate you NOT walking through mine.

RE: West Glacier Campground Recommendations

The KOA was pretty good when the weather went horrible in Aug 08. When the weather got better we moved over to Apgar. Apgar is great if you do not need any hookups.

RE: Yamaha 2400 suddenly won't run my 13.5 AC

Did you add any extention cord between the generator and trailer ?
Yes I was, as a matter of fact. Good catch. I try again next weekend and flip the breakers and plug her directly into the 30A via the adapter.
I think you found your culprit. You might also consider installing a Supco hard start capacitor to help start the AC a bit easier.

RE: camping vs rving any difference?

I take my TT with me when I go camping most of the time. Matter of fact, I have not gone camping without my TT for almost 10 years now.

RE: Just got back from Canada...no americans!

Over the last few years of traveling the NW and Montana, I have noticed many Canadians don't visit Canada either.

RE: Expedition Mods

I did all of the above to my old Chevy with little satisfaction and wish I would have saved my money and gotten a diesel sooner.

RE: Yellowstone in June 2010

Everything in Yellowstone is a must see IMHO. Other places to visit and making a nice loop along the way there and back would be Lewis and Clark Caverns, Cody, WY, Craters of the Moon National Park, McCall, ID are a few places off the top of my head well worth the visit.

RE: Oregon or Washington Coast?

You can forget about getting into any coastal WA State Park without a reservation made many months ago.
Oregon has the true coastal experience. Wa not so much as the road is largely "inland" and rarely gets close enough for any views of the ocean.

RE: Idaho and Montana Camping

Even if you could, you DO NOT want to take the MH up the Going to the Sun road. I was more than happy to take the free shuttles and leave the dually in the CG.
We stayed at the Nugget CG in St. Regis just off of I-90 before heading up to Glacier. It was a very nice CG and really enjoyed our brief stay.
Oh.. and if you have never visited Craters of the Moon national monument, it is well worth it.

RE: Dry camping question

I never travel with water when not needed. I only haul enough for a few bathroom breaks and washing of hands. The NW has the best water so taste or quality is rarely an issue. I do my research and find a location I can fill up at. If there is NO option for water along the way, then I will haul water to the CG.

RE: Going to fire up propane appliances tomorrow, any advice?

I'll assume you have the very common three burner stove with a striker knob.........
Turn on all three burners and keep on twisting the striker knob until they light off and then you can turn them off. Heater, water heater, and then the fridge are my order of ops checks.
