Price going up at Green Mountain Reservoir, Co.

Green Mountain Reservoir is a beautiful place to camp along the Blue River but why would the FS fee jump from $5 to $13 this year. There's no fresh water supply, no hookups, vault toilets are locked a large part of the year so no need to pump out that often and the dirt road in to where we camp on the east side is usually so rutted I keep the MH at under 4 MPH so I don't bend a jack. We have camped and boated there since 1972 and I can't call this progress, only a ripoff. I know everything is increasing but how about maybe $8, not more than doubling the price in 1 year. RE: Re-use wheel grease seals?

I only replace them if I damage them when they are removed.

RE: I'm so, so excited!

If you start with soap and water then go to a polish/cleaner and a white aerosol paint you may be surprised how well old paint can clean up.
You may have a lot of people wanting to see the inside on your first trip, we would enjoy some pictures also.

RE: Wiper Blades for 1997 Pace Arrow Vision

If you are a member at Costco they have Goodyear arms/blades made in USA for under $8. Their web site shows them for $14 but the store was $8, big difference. Several sizes between 16 and 28 inch's. I checked the Goodyear site for size and will go back in the morning.

RE: Rhino drive belt

On a ATV forum I read most go with the original belts, a few have had trouble, 1 with a after market belt said it lasted just long enough to be out of sight of his truck. Not the same as a Rhino but on our 2 Polaris 500HOs I trashed 1 at 2000 miles, the other I replaced at 4000 but it still looked good.

RE: I-70 at Glewood Springs (Colorado) now open...

The key thing there is "expect delays" but even 3/4 hour delay is better that a 2 to 3 hour detour over 2 lane roads.

RE: Battery Sensor -- Accurate ????

I don't know how accurate you want to be but mine can show green all the way across when the battery is at 12.2 volts. At 11.7 it's in the orange. I think to show low it would need to be totally dead so I never depend on it. We run the generator 2 to 3 hours a day.

RE: Finally...A great store bought egg! w/pic

Sad thing is many younger people crack an egg and see that color with the yolk standing up and it may go in the trash or back to the store. Must be bad because they have never seen a egg like that, have never seen a fresh egg.

RE: I-70 closed in Colorado

One hole in the road is 10x20 feet so it may be several days before the repairs are finished, rocks were the size of trucks.

RE: Sam's Club 6 volt deep cycle

I bought 2 of the Sam's 6 volt 3 years ago they are good batteries. I needed a deep cycle 12 volt a few weeks ago and asked the man at Sam's who made them, he said Johnson Control. Since 1 was bought out I think there are only 3 companies making auto batteries in the US.

RE: Wow! Hanomag Silver Streak..... 1 of 23 made!

It's hard to believe some of these things people try to sell because there were just a few made. Looking at this there is a very good reason why they only made 23. At first look before reading your post I thought it was Chinese.

RE: You can save a lot (and I mean a LOT!) on oil changes!

Jim87vette-- Our Honda owner's manual says 10,000 miles on the Accord. Might be a difference between the 6 and 4 cylinder.

RE: Where have all the trees gone??

Keep the trees, do a little trimming and have RVs with satellite dish's park facing north or south. We watch the news while eating breakfast, maybe a movie at night so the dish is great but not a must have.

RE: You can save a lot (and I mean a LOT!) on oil changes!

Our new cars call for 10000 and 7000 changes but I still change the Blazer 4.3 around 3 to 4000. I sent for the test kit and will test the Blazer at over 5000 miles might even be 6000 by spring.
They report on antifreeze in the oil also and I worry about Del-Cool so the price is worth it.

RE: Does anyone use their C-PAP while camping?

My wife just started using a Respironics last year and I was looking at giving up boondocking this year and staying at campgrounds. Between using the inverter and humidifier it was drawing the batteries down fast and I needed to run the generator longer than I liked to recharge. Now I have a 1000 amp battery and DC cord just for the C-PAP and a separate charger with a 25 amp mode to run off the generator. Hoping it will be fully charged in 1 1/2 hours after 8 hours use. Since ours and most seem to be 12 volt there's no need for a inverter which may have been a big part of the problem. If the battery only lasts 2 or 3 years it will be money well spent.

RE: $19.95 phone service

I thought it must be junk, just another ripoff but our local ABC news investigated and did a report, said it was great. The only problem they found was some people might not want to leave their computer on all the time to receive calls.

Cops just 6 blocks away you may not need to call 911 or check the RV, at 140 DB they may come to see what all the noise is about.

Marysvale/ Richfield Jamborees

Friends want us to go to a Jamboree in late June which seems early for the mountain rides around Marysvale. Anyone been to these jamborees and know which one for the best time and most fun. Friends want the experience of ATVs everywhere, we want the trail rides.
