RE: What does "Dealer Stock Only" mean?

Like MM said. It means what is on the lot.

RE: f53 fuel pump

There is a wiring adapter harness you were supposed to buy. They nicked you for full retail. I think I paid under $300. There a deep discount Ford suppliers on the internet. Google Ford discount parts. For the next time.

RE: whats your career?

58 now. Installed telephone systems out of high school, Stromberg -Carlson provided 3-4 months of Electronics training. Jumped on the PC bandwagon in 82, ended up VP of a mid-sized PC peripherals company at a young age, traveled all over the world, got burnt out in the corporate world. Semi-retired, dropped out at 42, bought a distressed, ocean front motel, fixed it up and ran it for ten years, sold it in 2005. Tried to retire again but am now goofing off at the locksmith trade. Sitting around doing nothing didn't do me any good. Having a pretty good time.

RE: can 30 amps run 2 13500 ACs

Before I would try doing both ACs, I would buy one of those Voltage Meters you just plug in to any outlet to see how many volts are being feed to the inside of the RV. If the voltage starts at a good 120 volts, then I would try the first AC. If the voltage stays above 115 volts after the compressor turns on then I would try the 2nd AC. Yes, I agree with the other post, to not have the electric hot water heater on, batteries already charged and ref on gas. The situation you don't want to do is try and drive your ACs with volts lower than 110. You might lose a motor. Your breaker does not always trip before the damage is done. Most Double ACs require a 50 amp system with its 50 amp cord. A 30 amp cord for two is going to get really hot. If you had a JTB system, you could do both easily. Hope this helps. Dude, you really don't know what you are talking about. Most rigs that have EMS can run two AC's all the time on 30A service. Two AC's pull about 26A on high with the compressors on. Assuming all the connections are good, you will have in spec voltage right up to the time the breaker pops.

RE: Secret of Grilling Chicken

Brine it! http://whatscookingamerica.net/Poultry/BriningPoultry.htm BINGO!! FOLKS, WE HAVE A WINNER!! Brining will give you juicy, tasty meat. I also recommend ponding out the breast so it cooks evenly. Then don't over cook it.

RE: Corn beef hash?

Another vote for home made. You can use bagged fresh hash browns if you want a shortcut. I usually shred my own potatoes, finely chop onion and use real corned beef I boiled for dinner.

RE: can 30 amps run 2 13500 ACs

If you don't have EMS, if both AC compressors start at the same time, I think you will blow a breaker. We run two ACs on 30A routinely but the EMS sequences the compressors

RE: Ways to stay cool while tent camping

Portable AC. No holes in the side of the tent, just route the 4" tube out the door.

RE: Where to haul the dog??

How do you have a pet and it not alter your lifestyle? They need walked, fed, taken to the vet, bathed and loved. Those things alter your lifestyle.

RE: Bone Head Move of the Day

Porcelain tile is the same color all the way through. Ceramic tile has a glaze over clay; usually red or gray. Also porcelain is much harder than ceramic and probably would not have chipped. The bottle would have broke first.

RE: accidentally plugged in 240v to 120v camper....Help!!!

Call your insurance agent. This should be covered. New capacitors on the AC might fix it. It is often next to impossible to replace the heating element on the fridge. You might need to replace the entire coolong unit. Time to take it to a pro.

RE: Campground on the beach in Florida?

Bryn Mawr in St. Agustine has some site on the ocean. Beverly Beach Camptown below St. Augustine is on the ocean. About $80/nite and up. Gamble Rodgers State Park is on the ocean farther south but VERY hard to get a reservation. Jetty Park in Cocoa Beach (county park) has some ocean view sites. Hard to get into.

RE: Maine or Michigan

I was raised in Michigan. Beautiful state, we love to go back there. Go to Maine for your vacation. The coast is amazing, scenery beautiful. Go to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, eat lots of Lobster.

RE: Perspective RV'er needing opinions

Bear in mind that about every five years, a diesel needs a full fluid service. Coolant flushed, power steering flush, rear end oil, trans fluid, leveling jacks fluid, new belts, thermostat, hoses, repeat for genset. And look at the tire age. Tires can cost $3500 and $2K for the service work. You can get fooled by just looking at purchase price. Paying a little more from an individual that you can talk to and he can show you all the service records can be important.

RE: Are they BS'ing me?

Call the factory and ask. Mine is tight all the waqy around. If mine was not touching the same all the way around, I would consider it a problem.

RE: Kwikee steps not completely retracting

Probably just needs lubed up. To know for sure, find the two-wire connector that powers the motor and be ready to pull it apart when a helper opens the door. You want to stop the steps in mid swing. Once you have the steps halfway in or out, pull the cotter pin that holds the pin that connects the steps to the motor. Now your steps are swing free. You should be able to push them all the way in and out with no binding. Lube all the pivot points until it swings freely, then reconnect.

RE: macerator pump or gravity?

I have a macerator and use it 10-12 times per year to dump at home into my cleanout 80' away uphill. We tailgate a lot and come home with full tanks. It lets me do the tanks while DW empties the fridge and gets laundry started. Having said that, I would never use it when a 3" option is available. Macerators require annual preventative maintenance or they will get hair wrapped around the shaft and stall. Also the impeller (nitrile rubber) wears out and vanes will break off. If it ever jams or otherwise stalls, you have a few gallons of raw sewage to deal with. Not fun. If anyone puts a candy wrapper or anything beside TP in the tank, you have a jam.
