RE: Long or Short Vacations?

We like longer trips - more relaxing for us.

RE: Favorite camping meals...

Grilled ribeye (medium rare), medium filet for the wife, corn-on-the-cob, baked (on the grill) potato with the works. Maybe a salad with bleu cheese dressing or a Caesar. Probably not healthy to have every day, but when I was in my thirties...

RE: TC newb, how did i do?

That sucker is huge. Looks like you got a great deal! Hope the truck holds up to the weight :)
It's a very nice looking rig. I, too, hope the truck's up to carrying it.

RE: Grand Teton NP - winter camping trip report

Wow, fun trip, nice report, fine pictures. Great looking rig, too. Question, do you keep the furnace on in the camper while traveling in weather down near 0 deg F? Thanks for sharing your experience.

RE: Eternabond Tape ?

I did the same as you are planning, and I am happy with the performance. Thought I'd had a leak there, but I was wrong; however, I did find the leak and others and repaired them with eternabond successfully, too.

RE: Rear door vs side door..

IMHO the issue is useable space in a truck camper where space may be at a premium, anyway. A side entry camper would be my preference in theory; however, in practice all of the side entry camper I've seen have alot of dead space precisely because of the side entry. In the end it's your decision, and obviously others don't feel the same way...

RE: new dually ...please help!!!

The dealer and DH spoke with Dodge and it just means that you shouldn't have a plow on at the same time as the TC. DH just drove in with his new dually! It's a beauty and now all we have to do is choose the TC! Now how hard can that be?
Thanks for your encouragement. You made me feel 1000% better. DH said "ask your camper buddies"...I knew you would help.
Great news! Now choosing the camper should be alot of fun. Go for it!

RE: Truck Camper with slide out bathroom.

Not bad. I prefer my forward bath, but in this case it makes sense. Dinette looks kind of small - 1.5 people per side?

RE: how much do you trust the dealer

The best is to post on here and see what others say.
Good question, and I think this is the best answer. It's important for you to be able to trust your dealer with regards to repairs, for example, after you've bought the unit (truck or camper). However, for your protection it's important to research as much as you can (actually this can be fun - try not to be in a hurry) so that you've got an idea of what you are getting yourself into and how it will fit your needs.

RE: Do you guys find your camper to be a little bit of sanctuary

Yep, great sanctuary, and I've been keeping a camper's log since we got it. Helps to jog my memory - memory lane's not quite so clear as it used to be, but the log helps. 333 nights and counting...

RE: leaning to the right side

Agree, I fill my bags to different pressures for that reason and have no problems with handling of any kind. My slide makes the camper heavier on one side. So as long as your bags are not connected to a single fill line, you should be able to do the same. Otherwise, you may be able to help by loading your camper equipment more to the other side for better weight distribution, but that could be a difficult proposition... Good luck.
