RE: I had another

t-train, time to think outside the box. Surely there are other business sectors that need facilities people-try churches, recreation departments, housing complexes, corporations, restaurants-everything. Are you handy with tools? Are there construction companies in the area that might need help? You'd probably have to start at the bottom but it might be time to start thinking in a different direction. Prayers coming your way.

Another Myrtle Beach & Dogs Question-The Heat

We will be in MB in August. I know the weather will be hot. Our Springers are built more for cold weather, and we are trying to decide whether or not to take them with us. We plan on shaving them down for the summer but I'm still concerned it may be too hot for them. They will spend a good portion of the day in the Endura with the a/c on, but we want to be able to play with them on the beach when they are allowed to be out (after 6 p.m. per Myrtle Beach Travel Park). Pros/cons/suggestions?

RE: Bringing dog to Myrtle Beach - lyme disease?

Because of where we live we routinely vaccinate our dogs for Lyme's. It's not cheap but BIL lost one of his labs to it and I'm not willing to take that chance. In a non-wooded area I wouldn't worry too much, especially if there aren't any deer.

RE: new traveling companion

It is your duty as a good citizen and animal lover to try and find the owner. Run an ad in a local paper, contact local vets and animal shelters to see if anyone has reported the dog missing. If you are unwilling to do that, regardless of where you live and your perception of how improbable it is the dog belongs to anyone, then contact someone who is.

RE: Improving ride/handling of Kodiak

We're 35 feet. It's trac bar I was trying to think of. Can you recommend a brand and/or model? We can do more than one thing so it will be the shocks (ours are shot anyway) probably the track bar. Do you have a ballpark cost on the steering stabilizer?

Improving ride/handling of Kodiak

OK, I've weeded through a bunch of threads on improving the handling/ride of Class Cs in general. First thing we are going to do is install Bilstein shocks. Second thing is some sort of stabilizer. We aren't interested in airbags at this point but definitely want to do something more for the side-to-side sway/bounce without spending a fortune (son is starting college this fall!). Enlighten me. Sway bar, stabilizer or are they the same? What mods have any of you done on your Kodiak and what do you feel you get the best return investment on, other than the Bilsteins?

RE: route help

You might want the mods to move this to Roads and Routes-you'll probably get more responses there.

RE: DINGHY OR NO DINGHY

Toad. From a cost perspective you probably won't save enough in mileage cost to offset a rental cost. Driving and parking in DC is a challenge to say the least. Public transportation is readily available, safe and reliable. Yellowstone and many other places will be much more enjoyable and accessible with it.

RE: Classic rivalry between 2 giants...Ford #1 in sales in USA!

Renault is #3??? That's not a name I expected to see! Last September my short list was the Ford Edge and the Subaru Outback. Bought the Outback for 2 reasons-better fuel economy and less expensive. Loved the Edge, though. It's a more "refined" vehicle. It drives a little better than the Subaru but the Outback handles better. Was a VERY hard choice. We want to ditch our Toyota pick-up and when we do there will be a brandy new F350 in our driveway. As far as we are concerned Ford is the ONLY pick-up truck.

RE: Tell me why??

Live and let live. As long as the dog gets adequate exercise otherwise who cares? Besides, little legs get tired faster and it allows the humans to get more exercise than they might have gotten otherwise. I vowed I'd never dress my dogs up but now that I've got 2 small ones (50 lbs to me is small) they've been pirates and elves. It's FUN, they love it, and it doesn't hurt anyone.

RE: CITI Visa lowered my credit limit.

I was a day late on one payment-first time ever-and the upped my interest rate to 25.99%. They also kept backing up the due dates so it was less than a 30 day cycle so the cards are gone.

I haven't seen bashing, just expression of other opinions. Period. That's what the forum is about. Ya don't have to agree but we've got the right.

RE: Would it be possible to add a new category under pets?

Simple solution. Don't read the posts that you don't like the sound of. And I have to agree with Code2High-if just the mere sight of such a topic sets you off then I suspect you might have deeper issues to contend with. I don't consider that harsh at all. Some days I can handle the posts and some days I can't. Some days it's therapy and others it's torture. If this area bothers you than please protect yourself and don't go to Around the Campfire and read the tragedies some have endured. That will surely be more than you can handle.

RE: Any Discounts on WDW Ft Wilderness?

Jan, in the upper right corner of Disney's website there's an area that looks like a turned over page where it talks about the discount card. Click there and then on the room discount section about halfway down the page. As look stated, specifically select the campground. It is possible, though, that the discount doesn't apply during the dates you are going.
